It’s NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas, so let’s start the news at the track. There are over 100,000 people expected to visit Las Vegas for the races this weekend…… Robots Invade The Vegas Strip ? I wrote about robotic bars 2 or 3 years ago and wondered when they would be in Las Vegas. It looks as though it’s time for robot booze slingers to hit the Vegas Strip.
You know it’s a slow week in Las Vegas when the biggest news was discussing a business possibly filing paperwork. Early last week it was reported that the Oakland Raiders would file paperwork to potentially move to Las Vegas. By the end of the week, that report was confirmed by the NFL Network. It’s the Year of the Rooster! The Palazzo decked out their atrium to celebrate the Chinese New Year. This big guy is huge and quite a sight. I prefer the display from the previous Year of the Rooster display.

You might have heard that there was a presidential election this week. There will be a new President next year and some people are happy while others are sad. I’m less concerned with the politics than the gambling. Go figure. This was a record-breaking year for a US presidential election around the world – but not in the country where the election was actually held. Sports books outside of the US saw record amounts of money wagered on who would become the next President. Some gamblers won bigly as Donald Trump was a long shot for much of the time.
Las Vegas has its first new logo since 1979! A representative of Las Vegas says that the goal was to create a logo that is iconic, timeless, progressive, modern, fresh and exciting with a nod to the glamorous era of yesterday…..
Saving money in Las Vegas is as much of an art as it is a skill. Restaurant bills in this tourist town can add up quickly. Here’s how to save on meals!
