Vegas Vickie RETURNS

Vegas Vickie returned to Fremont street this week, as she was lit up in her new home at Circa Las Vegas. Visitors to Sin City will be able to visit her in all her glory once Circa opens in October.

Greeting visitors from near and far with a true Las Vegas welcome, Circa’s elevated lobby cocktail lounge will surround the iconic neon Vegas Vickie sign. Making her grand return to Downtown Las Vegas, the celebrated kicking cowgirl first appeared on the dazzling Downtown landscape in 1980 and became a must-see landmark on the Fremont Street Experience.

Vegas Vickie or Sassy Sally?

Vickie has a fascinating history, and I am certain there are a few that might think her actual or alternative name is “Sassy Sally.” Deke at Las Vegas Advisor gives one of the best overviews and puts the entire history and rumours to rest. Further, just in case you ever wondered about the spelling of “Vickie,” this is indeed the correct spelling for “Vegas Vickie.”

Oh, one more thing. As you might’ve noticed above, the Cowgirl’s name has been spelled Vicky, Vicki, and Vickie. Herb Pastor spells it Vickie. And since no one else knows anything for sure, we hereby proclaim that her name will be spelled Vegas “Vickie” forevermore.

Perhaps most importantly, to this writer, the reopening of travel between Europe and the US took a step forward this week as the CDC looked to take a new approach to air travel.
