The Hyatt Loyalty Program Gold Passport (soon to become World of Hyatt), lets you cash in points for free stays, spa treatments, meals, add-ons and room upgrades. Base earning for Hyatt Gold Passport is 5 points per eligible US dollar spent, and free nights start at 5,000 points. Our desire is to profile a selection of the cheapest Hyatt Mexico Hotels. For those disinterested in Miles+Points (is that possible?) these properties provide consistent quality backed by the global standards of Hyatt Corporation. We provide links to the official Hyatt pages for booking, as well as for booking with Hotels.com Mexico that provides a very simple awards program ( Hotels.com rewards – Collect 10 nights, get 1 free* ) for those that don’t care to focus on a specific hotel loyalty program.
Hyatt has hotels located all over Mexico, with all-inclusive, city and beach locations available. However, the following hotels have the lowest point rates, whilst keeping top spots on the TripAdvisor list, so you can make the most of your Hyatt Gold Passport points.
Alternatively, many of these Hyatt Mexico properties offer low prices during non-peak seasons allowing one to re-qualify for elite status at a relatively low cost. For example, Hyatt Regency Villahermosa has some advance purchase rates as low as $38. With taxes and fees, and at a price of just under $45 per night one could obtain (in the current program) Platinum Status (15 nights) for $675 or Diamond Status (50 nights) for $2250. Or, if creative with locations (talking conceptually) Diamond Status via stays (25 stays, not nights) for $1125. Of course, for one who is already Diamond the perks of “free” Regency Club/Breakfast, room upgrades and other benefits makes re-qualification at these rates a rather high value proposition. While these are extreme examples, it’s often nice to have an inexpensive vacation break while amassing at least some nights/stays towards elite qualification.
Regarding point stays, it’s best to always keep in mind opportunities to use low point redemption options (for example 5,000 points) when a hotel is selling at a much higher price during a peak period. Points are often a great way to leverage high priced room rates during high occupancy event and convention time periods. It can be very satisfying to use 5,000 points for a room (that is regularly only $50) that is selling (due to high demand) for $250.
