Du-par’s Vegas at Suncoast

A few weeks ago a friend texted a picture of his wife at Du-par’s during Happy Hour at the Suncoast. Yes, Du-par’s is still in business. No, Du-par’s is no longer at the Golden Gate. The restaurant at the SUNCOAST HOTEL and CASINO serves the same delicious pancakes and French Toast that we’ve come to know and love over the years.

My initial thought was that my friends went to Du-par’s for discount pie and beer for Happy Hour. Texting while I’m working during Happy Hour is a sure way to get under my skin. That might normally be the reason a text message is sent at this time. That wasn’t the case on this glorious Friday afternoon.

He wasn’t sharing a picture to show off their mid-day treats. The picture was kindly sent as a heads up that Du-par’s at Suncoast now offers All You Can Eat pancakes for $6.99. Well, this is news I could use! Luckily, I live close to Suncoast and was able to take that challenge a few days later.

How much is All You Can Eat?

The Vegas Stack

My usual order at Du-par’s has always been the Vegas Stack of 3 pancakes. Finishing this order is rare and eating more would be difficult but I was up for the challenge. As it turns out, the first plate of All You Can Eat pancakes from Dupar’s arrived in the form of a Vegas Stack of three pancakes.

The pancakes are covered in a ladle of drawn butter and come with a side of boysenberry. As usual, I came close to finishing the three pancakes but I had to tap out. Sadly, All I Can Eat is almost three pancakes. Before mocking me, it should be known that my friend barely made it through half of his Vegas Stack and took the rest home.

After neither of us finished our plate of pancakes the waitress let us know that we shouldn’t feel bad. Almost nobody finishes more than the initial plate of pancakes with the All You Can Eat deal at Du-par’s. She has a regular that eats five pancakes but the vast majority don’t finish the initial stack.

Overall, we both saved $1 per order since the Vegas Stack is currently $7.99. Yippee!

Du-par’s Is Still Great

I’ve been to Du-par’s at the Suncoast a few times since it opened a few years ago. It always surprises me that people forget these great pancakes are still around. The Suncoast is 15-20 minutes away from the touristy parts of Las Vegas.

The casino and great pancakes are easily accessible and affordable for a group to head out to the burbs for a delicious treat. The worst case scenario is that you eat too much and just want to nap. Good thing the movie theater inside the casino has recliners so you can relax.

There are plenty of not-so-hidden gems around Las Vegas. I’m happy to live close to this one at Du-par’s inside the Suncoast.
