Cancun is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the whole of Mexico. With its white sand beaches, turquoise waters and delicious Mexican cuisine, you will be in heaven all day long. But arguably the most well-known aspect of Cancun is its outstanding, and at times outrageous, nightlife!

This Caribbean city has become known for its crazy Spring Break spots, with young party-goers flocking to its beaches for the summer season. However, Cancun isn’t all “Spring Break Woohoo”, there is definitely something for everyone. You will quite often see people in their 20s dancing right next to a group in their 50s. The wild nights in Cancun don’t stop until the sun comes up, so strap on your dancing shoes and enjoy the party.

Coco Bongo

This is definitely Cancun’s most popular nightclub. Coco Bongo has been featured in numerous travel programs, and people book their all-inclusive tickets before they even step off the plane. Every single night you will find high energy shows full of popular music, professional dancers and acrobats. Expect to see an appearance from Beetlejuice and a fantastic Michael Jackson impersonator while you’re dancing the night away, and look out for Spiderman flying through the air right above your head. Even the bartenders and wait staff will take to the stage throughout the night to show off their vocals or signature dance moves. Coco Bongo is located on the club strip of the Hotel Zone in Cancun, so it’s easy to get back to your accommodation after dancing until the sun comes up.

The City

This is the biggest nightclub in the whole of Latin America, which can host over 5,000 exited club goers. During Spring Break and the Summer months, all three floors of this gigantic club are packed to the brim, and the party doesn’t stop through low season either. With world-famous DJs and concerts from huge names such as; Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Flo Rida and Fergie, it’s no wonder the party never ends in The City. This mammoth discotheque also puts on weekly theme parties, so expect to be slathered in neon body paint or covered from head to toe in foamy bubbles. Just like Coco Bongo, The City is handily located in the Cancun Hotel Zone… did I hear someone say bar hop?

Congo Bar

Compared to the other nightclubs in the Cancun Party Centre, Congo is a little smaller, and a little cheaper. But believe me, it packs a real punch! This open-air bar offers an open bar much like the larger clubs, however, theirs is just much cheaper, and you are more likely to actually get served. Expect live rock and salsa bands, go-go dancers, shot girls and a bar top conga line. Drinking your weight in margaritas and dancing until you see the sun is definitely encouraged in this fun-filled club. Congo has a capacity for 1,800 people, so if you want to get yourself a table I would suggest booking in advance.

Crazy Hot Coyote

CHC, as the locals call it, claims it is ‘the club that has it all’. This unique club focuses all its energy on world class entertainment. On the weekends they proudly unleash their sensual burlesque show, and throughout the week they have various performances from the world of cabaret. At Crazy Hot Coyote you get the first class service you would expect from an Oasis Hotels & Resorts establishment, only with added DJs, acrobats, comedians and dancers. You will also have the chance to meet Mr. Coyote himself, as he parades around the club injecting the dancing bug into everyone he comes into contact with. This cabaret-style club is situated in the very heart of Cancun, so it’s the perfect place to spend a night in style.

Dady’O

A night in Dady’O is like crawling through the side of a mountain to find the hippest and happening night of your life. The outside of this unusual club looks like a huge rock, and the inside is no different… think the Flintstones gone wild. Dady’O is one of the oldest clubs in Cancun, so they know how to do things right. You will hear world-class DJs spinning, famous rock bands riffing it out, and some of your favourite celebrities singing the night away. In this iconic club, you can also find crazy theme nights such as; bikini contests, glow parties, foam parties and rock nights.

Amarula Con Acento Tropical

This locals bar is located in the up and coming Avenida Nader, away from the crazy noise of the Hotel Zone. To find this stunning bar you have to know exactly where it is. The entrance looks like the front door of a house, and is marked only with a small dim light in the shape of  ‘Amarula’. Its unassuming appearance is one of the reasons you rarely see a tourist in this amazing establishment. However, the energy and appearance inside rivals that of any top nightclub. Amarula brings the top DJs from all over Mexico to play their most eclectic music, whilst some of the best flare artists of the region mix up their signature cocktails. This is one nightclub you don’t want to miss if you are looking for the true Mexican nightlife experience.

There are so many unique options when it comes to nightlife in Cancun. But some things they all have in common are amazing music, energy and a party that lasts all night long!
