Atlantic City | Borgata Comps
The Borgata has always thrown some extra perks to their lower level players during slow times and it’s nice that Mlife is continuing that tradition. (It takes the sting out of the fact that it is very difficult to earn comps at the Borgata as a low roller.)
Extra Perks and Continuing Borgata Mlife Data Points – October 2017
When Borgata released a myVegas comped weekday room award that coincided with an undefined Instant Slot Dollar Bonus promo, I jumped on it! I hadn’t played since Tier Credits reset on Oct 1 and also since I had my players account adjusted manually, because there were discrepancies in it. (Those incorrect amounts are making it very difficult for me to confirm the earn rates on video poker.)
First, the Instant Slot Bonus. Borgata advertised this with no details except for the dates, October 18 and 19. This makes me chuckle. Is Borgata so popular that they can just say, “BONUS” and people will come a running? Maybe so, because that is what I did.
I checked in and loaded for bear—charms, glitter, lucky money. I even broke out a new super cute Hello Kitty tablet to note the numbers. It’s well past time for me to log a winning year. Or maybe not. It wasn’t the worst session I’ve had but it was one of those that teased me the whole time. In one five minute time span I had to drop TWO made flushes to go for the Royal and didn’t even get a paying pair.
Anyway, at the end of the night I tallied up the numbers and once again, my Point balance was off. I know this because my Express Comp balance was in a normal range. This probably means that my Tier Credit balance will be incorrect too. The odd thing about this is that the numbers do move, but in no discernable pattern.
The good part is that when I went to the booth this morning, the rep gave me the same numbers that I calculated, meaning that the earn rates I quoted in my last article are right, at least for video poker! There is some glitch in my personal account that needs to be discovered and corrected.
For those who want exact numbers:
I earned $21 Express Comps over a period of about 7 hours. Most of that was at 25c video poker but I did a couple of hours at 50c. At the comp earn rate of .2%, that’s $10,500 coin in, which is about right. For $21 Express Comps, I should get $8.40 in Slot Dollars and 210 Points plus the Mlife Gold Tier Multiplier should have showed up in my account almost immediately. Instead, my account showed I had earned 24 points, which isn’t correct even if it was just the 20% multiplier (42 Points). (Also, be sure to read: MGM Borgata Mlife Comp Earn Rates)
The booth also confirmed that for $21 Express Comps, I should receive 1575 Tier Credits. 75 Tier for each Express Comp.
There were a number of people waiting in line at the Mlife desk and there were 2 agents. That kind of under staffing is unacceptable. These ongoing problems with Mlife are the corporation’s fault and they should have the decency to employ more staff to work on issues. Instead, they have shortened desk hours and have less employees working. Shame on them!
Instant Bonus Promo
For those interested in how the Instant Bonus Promo works (there is another one on November 20 and 21), it is for two entire gaming days and there is a limit of 10 total bonuses that you can earn. I earned 5 bonuses for a total of $80 in instant Slot Dollars during 7 hours of play on October 18. I received two $20, two $15 and one $10 Bonus. I received three bonuses on October 19, over roughly 8 hours of play, one $20 and two $25 for a total of $70. There was really no way to anticipate when these bonuses would arrive or what amount they would be. When I asked for some clarification at the booth, other than the limit of 10 over two whole gaming days, they had no other information to impart. For what it’s worth, I played about $23,500 coin in and got $150 worth of Instant Bonuses for a total bonus take of .64% (maybe more like a bonus, ‘give’ because I lost all of it)
