We set up the latest big Vegas News story a week ago with our first Monday Vegas News. MGM Resorts is now operating The Cosmopolitan. Ta-Da!
TravelZork Las Vegas News — We’re moving the publishing date from Sunday to Monday beginning this week. We published the first installment of Vegas News (previously referred to as Sunday News) on March 13, 2016
This was a wild week in and around Las Vegas for me and the business side of things. Much of my time at Cosmopolitan was spent in the hotel room listening to earnings calls and writing about the information. You’ll see some of those notes later.
I planned my first stay at Palms Casino Resort for a day I thought it might be a little slow so I could check into the room early. Unfortunately, May 4th must have been busy because there were no rooms when available when I arrived around 11 am.
This was such a fun week in Las Vegas. The big event was the NFL Draft on the Vegas Strip. Hundreds of thousands of people were in town to catch the NFL spectacle.
Palms reopened this week. I was lucky enough to enjoy the pre-opening party. Scroll down my twitter media page to see some pics from the night.
This will be one of the busiest weeks in Las Vegas in a while. In addition to Palms opening off the Strip, the NFL Draft will take place on the Vegas Strip. Attendance for the latter is estimated between 500,000 and 600,000 people. Navigating the Vegas Strip will be a wild ride and we’re all here for it!
Nothing new to see here but this is a promo video for the opening of Palms on April 27. I found this while looking for information on the players club (Palms Rewards Program – CLUB SERRANO). Before we get to that, I need to remind myself about the property. Hopefully, it will help keep all of our expectations in check.
We’re going to open today with a short tale of a low-mid roller (me) enjoying the casino fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic. The past year of comps reminds me of getting the most out of the last great recession in the late 2000s.
The big news in Las Vegas this week was the confirmation that Formula One will start a three-race deal next year.
There’s usually something particularly interesting happening in Las Vegas. Besides recovering from the first weekend of March Madness, things were relatively mellow.
The first weekend of March Madness is wall-to-wall college basketball games for four consecutive days. In total, there will be 48 games played over the weekend.
Earlier this week I received an email from Aristocrat for a slot machine I found last month at Cosmopolitan. I receive lots of press emails but this one hit me because it was for a game I randomly discovered just wandering around The Cosmpolitan one afternoon.
