Caesars just had their first investors call since emerging from bankruptcy and I have a lot spinning in my head. Corporate earnings calls usually focus on revenue. This call was used more to discuss the future plans for Caesars Entertainment.
Gambling was once the main revenue generator for Las Vegas casinos. Along with food and beverage, hotel rooms, and amenities, it’s just part of the revenue mix today.

My feelings on the casino drink monitoring systems at the Cosmopolitan, Caesars Entertainment, and MGM Resorts International casino bars are mixed. I generally don’t mind the systems, especially at the Cosmopolitan, but I’m not entirely happy they have to exist.
For the past year, Caesars has been devoted to renovating their hotel rooms around the country. The reason for the upgrades is $imple. The new room products result in higher room rates. The interesting thing is that renovated Las Vegas hotel rooms are sort of a win-win for customers and the hotel operator.
