This will be a somewhat brief edition of Vegas News, with the short week for the long holiday weekend, I learned about at 8 a.m. on Friday.
Before I get started, I want to remind everyone that you’ll need a Real ID to fly to Las Vegas soon. I finally gathered my info and need to get this done. You can find more info here.

Elaine Wynn passed away last week. There were so many moving remembrances, but Wynn Resorts shared this very brief message.
You can read more about her life here.
Unrelated to Elaine, Tilman Fertitta purchased more shares of Wynn stock. Get the details here.
You might have heard that MGM Rewards has a new credit card. Get the specifics from the press release.
MGM Resorts is paying an $8.5 million fine for its part in the money laundering scheme. Strange how the Nevada Gaming Control Board sent out the press release on a Friday before a holiday. That’s probably just a coincidence. Read about it here.
Durango is joining the poolside blackjack party. The outdoor bar at The George/sportsbook has video poker too. I’ll have more info on which casinos will have outdoor gambling for the summer in a few weeks.
Unrelated, Durango upgraded some of its video poker machines. Get the what and where here.
Looks like Planet Hollywood will have a new poker room soon. See where it will be hidden here.
I’m curious to see April gaming revenue just to see what the people visiting Las Vegas for Wrestlemania spend in the casino. Evidently, nearly 200,000 people will be here for the matches even though the 60,000 capacity stadium isn’t sold out for either day. Get more details here.
The Vegas Loop now reaches three casinos within walking distance of each other. Get the details on the new Encore station here.
The next Vegas Loop station could be all the way across the street. Get another Boring update here.
Since we’re crossing the street to the Sphere, you can see a preview of the new Wizard of Oz movie below.
One of the casinos with a Vegas Loop station had a bit of a problem this week. Mr. Beast licensed his name to Resorts World for an event. They fumbled. He’s cleaning up their mess. Read more here.
Mr. Travelzork isn’t familiar with how popular Flex Pay plans are because he didn’t read this article I shared about 60% of Coachella tickets being purchased using a payment plan. You can read that here.
I have an article on how and where you can use these plans in Las Vegas coming out next week. Here’s a preview:
The Fountain Club is returning to Bellagio for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. You cannot pay for the experience with F1’s flex payment plan. Read about this year’s event here.
Resorts World has a lot going on this month. Proceed with caution. Get the info here.
I learned that Downtown Grand has a slew of promotions when I was writing about the topic last week. Get the details here.
The weather will be perfect for the next month, and the LVCVA has a list of things to do outdoors here.
The Arts District has a new dispensary. It’s near Able Baker Brewery. Get the info here.
The area is also getting a pretty parking garage
Boyd Gaming broke ground on its neighborhood casino in Henderson. This will be similar to Station’s Wildfire casinos with minimal amenities and no hotel. Read more here.
If you’re curious about Henderson, you can see a nice roundup of the casino happenings here.
I went to Luxor for the first time this week. I had a great time with good people and don’t see any reason to return. Here are a few pics.
There was a huge line to check into Luxor when I was leaving around 4:30 p.m. Check it out here.
I’ll have an article about ways to skip the long lines coming out next week (damn Easter). You probably know the “hacks,” but feel free to pass it on to someone who doesn’t know.
There’s a reason this sign is in the parking garage at Luxor, and I don’t want to know why.
Speaking of Luxor, you can get some news on the Titanic exhibition here.
Pennsylvania’s online poker pool will soon be linked with Nevada and a few other states. This means more players and more money. Read more here.
Outside of Las Vegas, Ocean Casino is making some moves that should be attractive to the East Coast peeps. Read about it here.
I don’t know what Zaxby’s is, but one just opened in Las Vegas. I’m assuming since people are excited by the opening that it must be a thing, so I’m passing it on here.
I’m a passive fan at best, but Green Day was great at Coachella. The production was amazing and would look good in Las Vegas. Check out one of the songs below.
