Vegas News | Bellagio Boat, Paris Is Hard All Day, And More Vegas Deals

Vegas News Update - TravelZork Vegas News

The rumors about a second Carbone in Las Vegas are true. This location will take over the Picasso space at Bellagio. It won’t just be Carbone 2: Electric Boogaloo, it will be a seafood-focused restaurant. That makes sense as long as Lago is open and still great. Read more here.

The most fun quote from the press release is “Now, for the first time in the resort’s history, guests can ride around Bellagio’s Lago di Como in one of the most elegant water vessels in the world while enjoying breathtaking, front row views of the Fountains of Bellagio.“  Here’s a rendering of hashtag Bellagio Boat.

Boyd sold its stake in FanDuel. Look for the branding of the Fremont Casino sportsbook to change. That’s the only immediate impact on Las Vegas. Boyd reports earnings in a couple of weeks. Maybe we’ll get an idea of how the company will spend the money. Read more here.

I hate politics, so let’s get this over with. You may have heard about the Gambling element in the tax and spending bill that was approved last week. This will impact people who actually itemize gambling in their taxes, and I’m sure that includes some of you. ICYMI, you can get the info here.

There was a push to stop this tax. Read about it here.

This was introduced by the same politician who also wants to change the W2G threshold to $5,000 in 2024. Big surprise – nothing happened. Nothing happened with the G2E change. Read about that here.

Another big surprise. Nothing is happening to fix the new gambling tax either. Read more here.

Here’s a quick TLDR on how the tax would affect those who itemize gambling on their taxes.

Marc grew up on the mean streets of the South Bronx. He's the rare combination of Yankees and Jets fan which explains his often contrarian point of view. He learned about gambling at a young age working down the street from a bookie who took action on anything from the mainstream sports to the last three digits of the purse for certain horse races. Yeah, that's a thing. Today Marc is a freelance writer and social media consultant which allows him to work anywhere there's a wifi signal. This allows him to work from the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort or the food court at The Venetian where you’ll find fast and free wifi. Writing about steak, booze, gambling and Las Vegas is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
