We’ve seen a major casino transformation happening right before our eyes. Over the past year or so, the Cosmopolitan has undergone a major facelift. Changes to restaurants, hotel rooms, and the casino floor are continuing into the new year. Restaurant changes include the opening of Momofuku, Milk Bar, Eggslut and Zuma and the closure of Blue Ribbon Sushi.
The evolution of the casino floor is also continuing. Last year, the CG Technology sports book moved from the second floor to the first floor. The sports book and bar area looks and feels as though it’s a part of the casino now. The Cosmopolitan not only added a high limits slot room but they added almost every new slot machine for the everyday customers.

As you can see from the photo above, even the table games are getting a new look this year. The felt is being replaced at many games to reflect the current color palette. The casino floor at the Cosmopolitan almost has an entirely fresh look without changing its Identity. Yup, pun intended.
One of the newest changes on the casino floor that you’ll see comes in the way of a new Identity players club desk. The new Identity desk has doubled in size and has moved to the heart of the table games in the space formerly occupied by the Queue Bar. This addition also brings a new restroom to the south side of the casino. This is a welcome addition for anyone in the sports book or nearby table games and slot machines.
The Identity staff can now help with questions about rewards for the Identity players club as well as questions about their partnership with Marriott Rewards. The new Identity players club desk has been built to meet the new decorative aesthetic of the Cosmopolitan casino floor. It fits the new look and feel of the Cosmopolitan and should help market their players club better.

Even though Identity’s face in the casino has changed, the players club hasn’t updated how it rewards you for spending money in the casino. You can see full details on Identity here. The Cosmopolitan has added the nifty chart above to the Identity page of their website. You can quickly compare Identity to MGM Resorts’ M Life Rewards Noir card, Wynn’s Red Card, and the Platinum level of The Venetian’s Club Grazie.
The evolution of the restaurants at the Cosmopolitan will continue later this year as Zuma and Blue Ribbon American Brasserie open. Expect to see news on the new Penthouse Suites. The Cosmopolitan has been sharing interviews with some of the designers on snapchat.
Marc grew up on the mean streets of the South Bronx. He's the rare combination of Yankees and Jets fan which explains his often contrarian point of view. He learned about gambling at a young age working down the street from a bookie who took action on anything from the mainstream sports to the last three digits of the purse for certain horse races. Yeah, that's a thing. Today Marc is a freelance writer and social media consultant which allows him to work anywhere there's a wifi signal. This allows him to work from the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort or the food court at The Venetian where you’ll find fast and free wifi. Writing about steak, booze, gambling and Las Vegas is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
