Casino Tweets You Missed This Week
In the week of a brand new Mlife Tier Match, TravelZork brings you the top 9 casino tweets that you missed this week.
Mlife Tier Match
Casinos fans can benefit from the brand new Mlife Tier Match this week as MGM Resorts announced their first tier match program in years.
Tier Match in Atlantic City for Years
Even though Borgata Atlantic City still offered Mlife tier matching as a hold-over from their Borgata Rewards program (note: Borgata became a MGM Mlife property a few years ago), it was rare for Mlife to do status matching in the Las Vegas market. Reference to the Borgata program has been front and centre for years on their website.
The “NEW” Mlife Tier Match in Vegas
You can now find the details of the tier match on the Mlife website. All matches must be done in person at the Mlife rewards desk. The offer is currently available through December 31, 2020. Funny enough, the Borgata matching page gives a better explanation of the match than the Mlife website. The main MGM Mlife page seems to focus quite a bit on who qualifies for the match.
We have been discussing the topic (in a rather cheeky way with the title “WHO THE F*@k CARES?”) of status matching to Mlife Gold in the ZorkCast/TravelZork Facebook group (consider joining if you want an intimate and engaging environment to discuss casino comps, casino loyalty and travel) with focus on the value proposition for non-gamblers.
Another big topic of conversation is if you are already matched to Caesars Rewards Loyalty Program Diamond, is it even worth it to match to Mlife Gold? Once again, with a focus on those who gamble very little. If you gamble consistently the equation is a bit different. But, for those who do not give the casino much (or any) action, they are heavily reliant on tier-based benefits.
Mlife Gold is quite lacking in tier-based benefits in the Las Vegas Market. For example, just having the tier level of Mlife Gold (or even Mlife Platinum) does not grant a waiver for resort fees, whereas Caesars Rewards Loyalty Program Diamond status does provide such a waiver.
In addition, while Caesars Rewards Diamond allows for access to lounges in Vegas (note: currently lounges are closed due to Covid-19) whereas Mlife does not really have mid-tier lounge offerings in Las Vegas like it does (Amphora Lounge) in Atlantic City.
Match Your Mlife to World of Hyatt Status
On additional “perk” to consider is matching your Mlife Status Match to Hyatt Explorist. In addition, previously you received some additional “perks” (free play and comp dollars) when you did the match (trade-up) at Borgata. The Borg website is a bit elusive about this, but it would be a shame to lose those additional benefits for those that match in Atlantic City. (Note: This was a one time “extra benefits” feature, the first time you matched in AC.)
Usher Residency – Caesars Palace
In other news, Usher announced a residency at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, and the Wynn buffet has closed indefinitely. The long-awaited return of smoking, indoor dining and drinks service, was announced for casinos in Atlantic City this week, but there will be some limitations. Did we mention – Resorts World is looking sexy AF.
