Borgata Mlife Data Points – Things Getting Back to Normal

The lines at the Mlife desk at the Borgata are back to normal and the courteous and professional staff is forthright with answers to general questions about Mlife at Borgata. Mlife account information may not be current online; especially Points, Tier Credits and Tier Status but they are working on correcting that. It seems to me that the program is unnecessarily complicated but it’s almost identical to My Borgata Rewards except for some extra benefits for higher daily play.

Mlife at Borgata Atlantic City – Video Poker

Through the Mlife program at Borgata, you must earn a minimum of $5 in Express Comps to earn any comps at all, but you earn Tier Credit for all your play. You also had to earn $5 in Comps to receive any at all, through My Borgata Rewards, but you did not receive Tier Credit if you did not earn the minimum in comps. It’s unlikely that you will earn Tier Status if you consistently play below this minimum comp earning level, though.

Every $1 in Express Comp earned is worth 75 Tier Credits and 10 Points. 100 Points is worth $1 in Point Play or can be converted to $1 in Express Comps at the Mlife desk. So, for every $10 Express Comps you earn, you earn 100 Points and 4 Slot Dollars. After Borgata works out the technical kinks in the system, you should be able to use Express Comps and Points immediately. The Slot Dollars are bounce back free play, only available to use on your next trip to Borgata, just as they were with My Borgata Rewards. The difference with Mlife is that every 5th Slot Dollar is actually a Point Dollar, which can be used immediately or converted to comp. These Points are also multiplied by a certain percentage, depending on your Tier Level.

Mlife Tier Multipliers
Borgata Atlantic City | Mlife Tier Multipliers

The earnings rate on video poker through My Borgata Rewards was .2% in comps (once you earned the minimum of $5 worth) and .1% in bounce back free play (once you earned the minimum of $5 worth, which could be calculated by halving the amount of comps you earned (and this amount would show in your account, once your current trip closed out).

A Mlife Gold Card, which is equivalent to the prior My Borgata Rewards Black Label Card will take the same amount of play on video poker.

My Borgata Rewards Black Label:

$1000 comp dollars/.2% = $500,000 coin in

Mlife Gold:

$1 Express Comps/.2% = $500 coin in = 10 Points = 75 Tier

$50 coin in = 1 Point = 7.5 Tier Credits

75000 Tier/7.5 = 10000 Points ($50 a Point) = $500,000 coin in

Mlife Pearl:

25000 Tier/7.5 = 3333 Points ($50 a Point) = $166,667 coin in

Mlife Platinum

200000 Tier/7.5 = 26667 Points ($50 a Point) = $1,333,350 coin in

All Status Levels as of June 6, 2017 will be extended to September 30th of 2018, but Tier Credits will reset on October 1, 2017. Play from October 1, 2017 to September 30th of 2018, will earn status from the date earned (or renewed), until September 30, 2019.

Anyone who had earned $2600 Comp Dollars in the My Borgata Rewards program was given Platinum Status with Mlife.

For now, there is no talk of any video poker downgrades or a drink ticket system!

Lines at MLife Desk at Borgata were not back to normal today even if they were earlier in the week. System has been down on and off today and the line is seriously long. So, everything is not back to normal yet.

Ugh! I thought once they got the lines under control, it would stay that way. Thank you for the update.

comp and slot point rates (w/tier bonuses) appear to be correct based on my play, but did you verify the 7.5 tier points earned on your own mlife.com login? I only received 468 tier credits for earning 250 base points and $20 comp (with 30% platinum multipler became 375 points, $25 comp and $10 bounceback slot) on the 3-play $1 JoB machine ($12K+ coin in). this could mean that either not all the machines are programmed correctly yet, or different games have different tier earning rates (this would need to be indicated by stickers in the long run).

7.5 tier credits per base point seems fairly generous considering how much lower the rates are in other non-LV MGM properties in Biloxi, Detroit and MD. but it may be related to how they view their competition in AC, what they think the Borgata customers are happy with, and the cost of their investment in converting the program.

I also played $10 blackjack for about 2 hours, earning $4-5 comp and exactly 300 tier, so that ratio appears to be in line with the 75:$1 ratio.

Tysm for this additional information. You rock!

Points and Tier Credits are not showing in my Mlife account so I worked backwards with the info that I had (Express Comps and Slot Dollars). I can’t calculate my Gold multiplier, without a Points or Tier total.

you should be able to check slot and tier points on MGM’s mlife.com rather than borgata’s site, though keep in mind that any “tier” previously earned from the My Borgata program may be added in. the best for now is to jot down all your numbers before and after a playing session to compare. you would need to check both web sites or use the in-person comp machine to verify, until the system is fully merged.

bounceback slot dollars are not done at MGM casinos in LV (not sure about their other cities) so some numbers may be slightly off to compensate. for now I would consider it to be close enough to what players were used to pre-merger so that was probably their main goal. while something is better than nothing, $50 coinin per base slot point on VP (before tier multiplier) is worth 0.02%, that’s fairly negligible. if all things were equal, anyone would prefer base points which can be used immediately rather than waiting on bounceback.

consider that, virtually no tier or base point earning specifics have been publicly posted by MGM National Harbor, and that casino has been open for over 6 months now. if this forum thread on another site is any example, expect more questions than answers as the year goes on.

I have no play at any other Mlife property, so when my Tier and Points show online, I should be able to figure out the rates at Borgata. When I received my Mlife card in the mail, it listed how many Tier Credits I had earned since Oct 1, 2016, so that will be useful to compare to.

I’m sure you are correct that Borgata is intentionally trying to keep the program the same as My Borgata Rewards (for now). The market in AC is very different than any other region.

Actually, the $50 coin in per base slot point on VP (before multiplier) should be worth .20% in comps, plus the .10% fp (bounce back free play in AC) to coincide with My Borgata Rewards. You stated that there is no bounce back free play in other Mlife properties, so that might be the reason for this complicated transition. And also the different jargon. Everyone (including the booth) is using terms in non-specific ways. Express Comps and Points are two different things, though they are related and it’s really Tier Credits, not to be confused with Points, which are now really comp or fp.

It also seems to me that Borgata is calculating your earnings based upon Express Comps earned, but that can’t be 100% the case, because you earn Tier for ALL your play (Re: the booth) but only earn Express Comps if you earn a minimum of $5 worth. Minimum earn rates and multiplying only on one tenth of the comp earning rate and it’s no wonder that it’s hard to figure out—even for Mlife!

Mlife base points (and tier) are earned separately from comp dollars and bounceback, even if they might be somewhat correlated. for example, I currently have 971 points in my account. if I coined-in another $1450 on VP at Borg and got to 1000, I would be able to convert this immediately to $10 freeplay or comps at any MGM property and this would be in *addition* to any potential Express Comps and bounceback ($5 threshold noted) I earn at the same time. this is the part that is worth an additional 0.02%-ish that wasn’t at Borgata before. and still none of that provides any explanation about Tier points (yet).

people haven’t had much luck getting any firm point or tier earning transparency at MGM National Harbor either from the Mlife booth or even executive hosts, so I would be extremely wary of anything relayed from them if actual results from players don’t match. I believe the comp $ to Tier ratio is correct for Table games (people on the poker boards seem to agree) but remains completely up in the air for Slots and VP until MGM puts up something on their own site(s).

From what I was told at the booth and from estimating what my points will be online once they post, it isn’t an extra 0.02%. It’s what used to be all bounce back slot dollars, but now, $1 out of every $5 will be in points. So, for every $10 in Express Comps you earn, you will concurrently get $4 in Slot Dollars (in AC, bounce back slot dollars) and $1 worth of points = 100 points, which can then be converted to comp or slot dollars.

ok, let’s agree then that it’s 0.08% in bounceback slot dollars, and 0.02% (not “extra”) is the base points earned. I’ll keep tracking my play through the summer and see exactly how these are accumulated.

going back to my initial question, can you take the number of tier points that you said Mlife transferred from your old Borgata account, and subtract it from the number of tier points you have now? that will tell how many you’ve earned so far in proportion to your base slot points and comps.

I certainly will when that information is available! The problem is that it is not right now. I will be providing info as I get it or figure it oout. I appreciate any and all info you can add.

here is the link for activating the mlife account online, this should allow you to see your tier credits and slot points, but not Borgata comp dollars and bounceback…basically the other side of the mirror which is not merged yet:
