The Mirage has had quite a good run, and a bad R.U.N. but more on that later. Let’s just say it didn’t last long. Today as we lead up to the closing of the Mirage this Wednesday July 17th, 2024, we’re looking back on the stage productions at the Mirage Las Vegas. And one that terrified audiences long before R.U.N.
Siegfried & Roy at The Mirage (1990-2003)
Siegfried & Roy was one of the most popular productions at the Mirage and of Las Vegas as a whole during it’s Time. The show brought a blend of magic and exotic animals to The Mirage, captivating audiences from 1990 until 2003. Known for their elaborate illusions and white tigers, the duo’s show was a cornerstone of The Mirage’s entertainment until a tragic incident in 2003 ended their run and left many audience members with PTSD.
Danny Gans (2000-2009)
Renowned entertainer Danny Gans performed at The Mirage from 2000 to 2009. Known as “The Man of Many Voices,” Gans dazzled audiences with his incredible impressions, singing, and comedy. His versatile performances earned him a loyal following and solidified his place in Las Vegas entertainment history.
Cirque du Soleil’s LOVE (2006-2024)
The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil premiered in 2006, offering a musical journey through The Beatles’ career. It was a very beloved show to many. Combining Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatics with remixed Beatles music, LOVE created an immersive experience that has been a highlight at The Mirage for nearly two decades. Even Paul and Ringo have come to town to see this show several times.
Terry Fator: The Voice of Entertainment (2008-2020)
Ventriloquist and comedian Terry Fator entertained audiences with his show “The Voice of Entertainment” from 2008 to 2020. Fator’s talent for impersonations and ventriloquism, alongside a cast of puppet characters, made his show a family-friendly favorite.
Aces of Comedy (2010-2023)
The Aces of Comedy series featured a rotating lineup of top comedians, including Jay Leno, Ray Romano, and Kathy Griffin. This ongoing series provided a platform for some of the biggest names in comedy, making it a staple of The Mirage’s entertainment offerings. It was rebranded in 2023 as “Center Stage Comedy”.
Boyz II Men (2013-2019)
From 2013 to 2019, Boyz II Men’s residency at The Mirage brought smooth harmonies and classic hits to the stage. Their performances, featuring songs like “End of the Road” and “I’ll Make Love to You,” drew fans from around the world and added a soulful touch to The Mirage’s lineup.
R.U.N by Cirque du Soleil (2019-2020)
R.U.N, which premiered in 2019, was an action-packed departure for Cirque du Soleil, focusing on stunts and a cinematic narrative. Although it had a short run (giggle) closing in 2020, R.U.N showcased Cirque du Soleil’s innovative approach to live entertainment. Fact: RUN did not close because of the pandemic. However, It was as bad as the pandemic.
Shin Lim: Limitless (2020-2024)
Shin Lim, the master of sleight of hand and America’s Got Talent winner, began his residency at The Mirage in 2020. His show “Limitless” features mind-blowing card tricks and close-up magic that has left audiences in awe. Combining theatrical flair with incredible dexterity, Shin Lim’s performances have added a modern twist to The Mirage’s lineup of magical entertainment. His new performance home will be at Palazzo Theater. Shin Lim’s show was one of the last productions at The Mirage Las Vegas, closing shortly after The Beatles: LOVE.
