I had an idea planned that I thought was fun for this week, but I realized it won’t be useful for most of you. So this will be a little shorter than usual.
I was going to share that the last two new steakhouses I’ve tried have been outside of casinos. I rarely eat steak outside of a casino, but that’s how the ball rolls sometimes.
Most casinos have established steakhouses, so opening a new concept doesn’t make sense unless they’re refreshing the restaurant mix. Full disclosure, I haven’t wasted time, money, or comps trying Peter Luger’s at Caesars Palace. The rat-infested dump in New York was great, and the experience has never been replicated.
Fantastic dinner Rare Society across from Durango. Great vibe, decor, and service. Bacon app was ridiculous and the 30 day dry-aged NY strip was delicious. Will return. pic.twitter.com/ODsyJTgAJQ

While I could share tales of an amazing dinner at Rare Society, across the street from Durango Casino, I don’t think many of you will visit because you can’t use comps to cover dinner.
Instead, I’ll share some of my favorite Vegas Strip casino restaurants and some dishes where you can use comps in case you’re looking for something new or different. The list is only my favorite restaurants in the casinos, and it’s pretty short since I tend to visit places I like often.
My tastes are pretty basic, so there won’t be anything too outlandish. Having said that, my mood fluctuates from food hall to fine dining so there’s a bit of everything.
Note: If you can’t find an open reservation, it’s time to look for a host. Restaurants like Carbone at Aria are booked for months, but accessible if you know someone.
Aria: Bardot Brasserie (brunch), Carbone, Din Tai Fung (soup dumplings), John Georges (short rib or NY strip)
Bellagio: Lago, Prime
Cosmopolitan: Eggslut, Jaleo, Hattie B’s, District Donuts (cold brew and Vietnamese coffee), Lardo, Cromwell/Vanderpump: Giada (arugula salad, bucatini, and sangria – that’s it)
Momofuku (pork belly buns, Iberico pork), Overlook Grill (breakfast burrito)
Fontainebleau: Don’s Prime (NY strip), Miami Slice, Tavern (burger and BBQ popups)
Horseshoe: Guy Fieri’s (happy hour)
The Linq (promenade): Chayo (brunch only), In-N-Out, Off The Strip, Yardhouse
Madalay Bay: Border Grill (brunch), House of Blues, StripSteak
New York-New York: Gallagher’s, Shake Shack, Tom’s Watch Bar
Park MGM: Bavette’s (burger), Best Friend (kimchi fried rice)
Paris: Alexxa’s (short rib), Mon Ami Gabi (breakfast and coffee, steak frites)
Planet Hollywood: Earl of Sandwich, PF Chang’s, Strip House,
Resorts World: Carver Steak, Junior’s, Sun’s Out Buns Out, Wally’s (burger)
Wynn: Charlie’s (burger), Jardin, La Cave, Red 8, Sinatra, Tableau, Terrace Point Cafe, Urth Caffe
The Venetian: Bazaar Meat, Bouchon, Chica (Cuban sandwich), Grand Lux (steak and eggs Venetian side only), Milos (lamb), Yardbird (short rib or fried chicken)
That will do it! I’ve visited most of these restaurants multiple times. I left some of the restaurants off this list that I don’t mind, but will only go if someone else is choosing.
I haven’t put together a list of restaurants I recommend in a while. Thanks for the motivation to organize my favorites. I’ll be referencing this list pretty often now that I have one. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention some of these on the Beating The Book podcast last week.
