Some Of My Favorite Vegas Strip Restaurants To Use Comps

Carbone at Aria

I had an idea planned that I thought was fun for this week, but I realized it won’t be useful for most of you. So this will be a little shorter than usual. I was going to share that the last two new steakhouses I’ve tried have been outside of casinos. I rarely eat steak […]

Vegas News | Resorts World Open and So Much More

Vegas News June 27 2021 | Resorts World Open and So Much More

The big news in Las Vegas this week was the opening of Resorts World Las Vegas. This wasn’t a “grand opening” despite the ribbon-cutting, fireworks, celebrity appearances, and so on. This was a big deal since it’s the first casino built from scratch to open on the Vegas Strip in a decade. Having said that, consider this a “soft opening.”

This Local Loves Dining at the Venetian Vegas

Dining Venetian Vegas | The casinos on the Vegas Strip with my favorite restaurants are Aria and the Cosmopolitan. However, I head north on the Vegas Strip when I’m not exactly sure what to eat.

Atlantic City | Casual Dining

Tony's Baltimore Grill Atlantic City | Casual Dining

I recently wrote about some of my favorite non-casino restaurants in Atlantic City. This time I hit on some of the inexpensive casual spots to grab a fast meal in Atlantic City.

Atlantic City | Non-Casino Dining

Dock's Oyster House Atlantic City

Friends and family know that I have been visiting Atlantic City for decades and they often ask me for advice about various aspects of a visit to the city. When they inquire about a place to enjoy a great meal, perhaps for a special occasion, I generally suggest that they leave the confines of the casino and visit one of the local family owned spots.

Gilchrist Restaurant at Tropicana Atlantic City

Gilchrist Atlantic City

Tropicana Atlantic City started giving me a Sunday through Thursday, comped room night a week again and a friend was moving and a couple of us wanted to have a little celebration for him, so I found myself at the new Gilchrist Restaurant in the Chelsea Tower at Tropicana Atlantic City the next morning. I’ve […]

Jose Garces’ Okatshe at the Tropicana Atlantic City

Jose Garces’ Okatshe at the Tropicana Atlantic City

After perusing the Jose Garces’ Okatshe Tropicana Atlantic City menu we found the hidden door in the back of the Japanese candy shop and walked into a large and whimsical space, set up like an Izakaya (informal Japanese gastropub) in an alley of Tokyo.

3 Dining Hot Spots Near The Vegas Strip

Dining Near The Vegas Strip | Here are a couple of my favorite new off-strip dining hot spots along with a very newly opened restaurant. I’m including Uber ride-hailing estimates so you can budget time and money. You won’t find this kind of dining experience in a Las Vegas casino.

Angeline Borgata Atlantic City

Angeline, Michael Symon’s new Italian restaurant at the Borgata is named after his mother and inspired by her Sicilian cooking. I had dinner there with my own mother, on the third day it was open.

Tasting The Newest Restaurant At The Venetian, Mercato della Pescheria – Vegas

Tasting The Newest Restaurant At The Venetian, Mercato della Pescheria - Vegas

I recently visited the newest restaurant in the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, Mercato della Pescheria. The restaurant is located in St. Mark’s square replacing upscale Italian restaurant Postrio. The layout of Mercato della Pescheria is similar to Postrio with an indoor and “outdoor” table configuration. The outdoor seats are inside the casino under the painted sky ceiling.

Sometimes Ya Just Need A Hot Bowl Of Matzo Ball Soup…In Las Vegas

On this awful day that picks me up came in the form of a hug from a delicious bowl of Matzo Ball soup at Siegel’s 1941 inside El Cortez. This was the first time I visited the new restaurant so I was hoping that the soup was the hug I wanted. Thankfully, it was as good, if not better, than any Matzo Ball soup I’ve had in Las Vegas

Vegas News | New Restaurants, Fees And Maybe The Walking Dead

TravelZork Las Vegas News 11 December 2016 Vegas News | New Restaurants, Fees And Maybe The Walking Dead

Las Vegas has evolved in ways that you would have never expected 10 years ago. Restaurants and dining are now generating almost the same amount of revenue for casino operators as gaming. Today, the action in Las Vegas takes place in more locations than just casinos.

Vegas News | Start In The Casino And End Up At Happy Hour

Vegas News | Start In The Casino And End Up At Happy Hour

I usually start the news of the week with something from the business side of Las Vegas. Today I want to begin with news in the casino. This has been the catalyst for many of us to fall in love with Las Vegas. It’s what keeps many of us visiting Las Vegas. Sure the restaurants, bars, and shows are great but the epicenter of the action has long been the casino.

Vegas | Dinner at L’Atelier De Joël Robuchon

Joel Robuchon Sea Bass - Porcini Cream

I wasn’t feeling that flush, so I slid my mouse over to Robuchon’s other Vegas outpost – L’Atelier De Joël Robuchon. It’s a bit less formal and has 1 Michelin Star. It also features an open kitchen, so you can watch the culinary creations as they come together. I opted for seats at the bar, so my colleague and I could take in the action, and maybe take a few notes to improve our own kitchen skills.

Appetizers are the great equalizer when you’re looking to save money but eat quality food when dining in Las Vegas. A single appetizer can often be filling enough for one person.
