Vegas News | Free ZOOX!, Friends Opens At MGM Grand, and Boyd Earnings Offer Insight To Visitation

Vegas News Update - TravelZork Vegas News

This has been the hottest topic in Las Vegas over the past few months so let’s start Vegas News this week with a look at the first Las Vegas casino corporation to report earnings. Boyd is a good barometer since they have both locals and tourist properties in downtown Las Vegas.

Boyd earnings news: In brief, Boyd’s local casinos did better than downtown. They noted regional business around the country was up a little, with people not traveling as much. These two sync, and I expect we’ll see more of the same from the other corporations that report earnings in the next couple of weeks.

They also noted that the small dip in fly-in customers to Las Vegas is offset by more regional customers driving to Las Vegas. This seems similar to the peak Covid-era when fewer people were flying to Las Vegas.

Here are the non-financial Las Vegas highlights from the earnings call.

  • Suncoast: Renovations are ongoing and should be done during the first quarter of 2026.
  • Orleans: Room renovations will start later this year. This was announced during the last quarter.
  • Cadence Crossing (Henderson): Construction continues and should open mid-2026. Expansion sounds likely but that will depend on business.

A’s update: You can watch the construction of the Las Vegas A’s stadium here. You can see a time-lapse video from last week below.

Bally’s update: Speaking of the A’s stadium, Gaming and Leisure Properties, the owners of the land where the stadium is being built, had some comments about Bally’s building a casino-hotel to replace the Tropicana when reporting earnings. The full quote is necessary for maximum impact.

“Finally, in Las Vegas, we maintain a valuable land parcel of 35 acres, 26 acres of which will remain for development following the dedication of 9 acres for the site of Major League Baseball’s new Athletics stadium. Bally’s is continuing to work with its design professionals to finalize plans for an integrated casino adjacent to the new stadium. We intend to remain disciplined as the integrated resort planning process unfolds and we will then determine how much, if any, additional funding we may provide to support the construction of the integrated resort.”
