Looking back I think it’s safe to say that 2017 was an interesting year Las Vegas. There was plenty of news and I’m happy to say that we’ve never missed a week sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly of what’s happening in Las Vegas.
Happy Christmas Eve! Believe it or not, Las Vegas can get chilly in the winter. Everyone will feel the chill in the air if you plan on being outside for a while. So, that’s the weather. Brr. Let’s move onto the news.
The Golden Nugget Atlantic City is currently offering a three month tier match if you show an elite status card from another local casino. If you renew tier within that 3 months, you can do so at 25% of the tier credits normally required.
Summerlin is a planned community about 20 minutes west of the Vegas Strip. The entire area is beautiful and a well thought out combination of suburbia and what I expected from Las Vegas.
Caesars unveiled their Total Rewards benefits for 2018. While rumors had been circulating of an upcoming degradation of benefits, nobody predicted how steep it would be. Most of the key benefits of the Total Rewards program that made it the best casino loyalty program in the country are all gone. The biggest head-scratcher, is that the higher the tier one attained, the more that was taken away.
Quiet Las Vegas is a great Las Vegas. It’s still my favorite time to enjoy Las Vegas. Crazy trips to Las Vegas are fun too but the quiet time of the year allows fairly easy access to restaurants, clubs, or shows that might normally be busy or sold out. News from Las Vegas is sometimes quiet during the slow period too. Businesses sometimes take time away from announcements to focus their big news when more people are paying attention. That might be the case moving forward. However, the past week was chock full of news.
Bird Watching at Borgata Atlantic City | Eagles were my gateway bird. Seeing them soaring free in Alaska started me appreciating all birds, even a turkey size seagull roosting a few feet from me on the beach in Wildwood, NJ last summer. Now, I’m always looking for activity in the sky.
