Vegas News | Swingers Opening, Resorts World Complaints, And Poolside Craps At Fontainebleau

Vegas News Update - TravelZork Vegas News

The BetMGM App now allows players to use the same app and funds anywhere the app is legal in the US. Until this week, this was available everywhere except Nevada. This is a great feature but all players must sign up for new accounts in person at an MGM sportsbook due to Nevada gaming regulations. Read more here.

Resorts World announced the Janet Jackson residency which has been in the rumor mill for about 10 years. You can find dates and more info here.

I’m a nerd for casino layouts and can’t wait for this panel at G2E.

Swingers, the mini-golf space at Mandalay Bay is opening on my birthday. Read more here.

La Cave at Wynn is open after a quick refresh. This used to be a hidden bargain at the property when it first opened. Prices are in line with what you’d expect at Wynn today. You can learn more about La Cave here.

Tears For Fears is playing three shows at Fontainebleau in Oct. and Nov. Read more here.

I was told that Fontainebleau might debut poolside craps next year. Well, the table is up by the pool now. Have fun!

High temperatures in Las Vegas will finally be under 100 degrees soon. That said you can still gamble outdoors. Read more here.

F1 announced the entertainment for those who buy tickets to the Sphere Zone section at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Read more here

Las Vegas Grand Prix Bellagio Fountain Club tickets are $3,000 more this year than for the inaugural race. Judging from the rendering there will not be grandstands – just the $13k per ticket Bellagio Fountain Club. You can see all of the MGM F1 packages here.

More cars have been stolen from Circus Circus than any other Vegas Strip casino in the past few years. See the top (bottom?) three here

Say goodbye to The Mirage sign!

Speaking of The Mirage, you can follow updates on the transformation of the property into Hard Rock Las Vegas on Instagram and TikTok. I assume the Instagram updates will go to Threads and Facebook as well. See the social post here.

Hard Rock is just the latest casino operator to focus its marketing on social sites that aren’t XTwitter. Fontainebleau, Resorts World, Wynn, and others offer much much more content on the other apps.

Some would call YouTube a social media site. Wynn continues to post great videos there. I enjoyed this look at their K-9 unit.

The Sphere will have a U2 movie. Read more here

The Sphere reported earnings this week. The financials are getting better but aren’t good. You can find all the details here.

Cosm reminds me of a Sphere for TV shows and movies. It’s only in LA and Dallas right now. You can check it out here.

Watching videos of Cosm made me wonder when Sphere will open for football games on the weekends or major events like March Madness. People are already paying to watch these games and the experience would be rad in that environment.

Just a reminder that football season is here. I was shocked that people were screaming at the TVs during preseason games but this is Vegas…baby!

I had dinner at Fiorella inside Durango Casino and everything was delicious. They have a solid happy hour menu and I will definitely return for it. You can see the different menus here.

During Labor Day weekend the bar at Aria’s Food Hall will have “bottomless” mimosas and bloody marys for $21. I put bottomless in quotes because there’s usually a 2-3 hour time limit for bottomless drinks on the Vegas Strip. This is still a decent deal for the Vegas Strip. See the blurb here.

The McDonald’s at The D is closing. You can read a lot of words about it here.

Dita Von Teese is now performing at The Venetian. Read more about her show at Voltaire here.

Boathouse is out at Palace Station. Local favorite China Mama is in. Read more here.

I firmly believe Las Vegas casinos need Jackpot Mascots!

Circa has a marketing arrangement with Omaha Steaks. Read more here.

Let’s drone through the Fremont Street Experience

Marc grew up on the mean streets of the South Bronx. He's the rare combination of Yankees and Jets fan which explains his often contrarian point of view. He learned about gambling at a young age working down the street from a bookie who took action on anything from the mainstream sports to the last three digits of the purse for certain horse races. Yeah, that's a thing. Today Marc is a freelance writer and social media consultant which allows him to work anywhere there's a wifi signal. This allows him to work from the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort or the food court at The Venetian where you’ll find fast and free wifi. Writing about steak, booze, gambling and Las Vegas is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
