Caesars had until last weekend to accept a new deal to replace Fertitta’s offer to take the company private. There’s usually an announcement or/and a legal filing to say the deal is going forward.
The date passed with no announcement by Caesars, Fertitta or anyone else. It’s definitely a little weird and there’s been chatter but nothing from anyone significant. This article from the Atlantic City Press is the only reputable media outlet asking questions. Read it here.
Caesars is reporting earnings on July 28. However, there’s no earnings call with the pending Feritta deal. See the press release here.
Fertitta and Caesars have been noticeably quiet since the go-shop period ended. Read about it here.

I’m not tapped into the corporate world enough to try to connect the dots, but from the little I know, there are usually official announcements when milestones are passed during deals like this.

In the last Vegas News, I dove deeper into Bally’s not-really-existing plans to build a hotel, casino, and retail complex outside of the A’s Stadium. The company still doesn’t have approvals or funding, but they say they’re getting close to securing funding. Gotcha. Read more here.
Here are the past 30 days of construction on the Las Vegas A’s stadium in 16 seconds for those of you curious about progress.

Last and certainly least. I hit another royal flush last weekend at a bartop machine. It’s the fourth over the past year at a tavern with less-than-desirable paytables. I’ve only hit one playing acceptable paytables in a casino. Playing the best paytables is the way to maximize bankroll and rewards, and this just amuses me.
I’ve gotten one royal flush playing the right pay tables for 90% of my life. I’ve gotten 4 in the last year playing bar tops. We should play the best games…but also…do what makes you happy. Kyle Kinane is still rad. pic.twitter.com/aY8sTEytZw

Marc grew up on the mean streets of the South Bronx. He's the rare combination of Yankees and Jets fan which explains his often contrarian point of view. He learned about gambling at a young age working down the street from a bookie who took action on anything from the mainstream sports to the last three digits of the purse for certain horse races. Yeah, that's a thing. Today Marc is a freelance writer and social media consultant which allows him to work anywhere there's a wifi signal. This allows him to work from the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort or the food court at The Venetian where you’ll find fast and free wifi. Writing about steak, booze, gambling and Las Vegas is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
