New Jersey’s ban on smoking in Atlantic City casinos ended Sunday, July 4. However, Gov. Phil Murphy indicated he would look favorably on a measure lawmakers are considering to permanently end smoking in New Jersey’s casinos. Casinos are exempted from a state law banning most indoor smoking, while an Atlantic City law limits smoking to no more than 25 percent of the casino floor.
New Bus Service Between New York, Atlantic City – OurBus, a new intercity bus service, now offers departures four times a day connecting New York City with Galloway, N.J., and three casinos – Resorts Casino Hotel, Caesars Atlantic City and Tropicana Atlantic City.
Big news for Atlantic City in April 2021, New Jersey Governor. Phil Murphy has increased capacity at casinos, restaurants, and other businesses to 50 percent.
Atlantic City’s nine casinos saw 9.3 percent more revenue in January 2021 than they did a year earlier, largely because of online gambling and from sports betting.
Caesars Entertainment Inc. has entered into a strategic investment in the daily fantasy sports platform SuperDraft Inc. According to a news release, “The investment complements Caesars strong mobile sports and gaming network by adding an innovative Fantasy Sports platform, further strengthening its pipeline to customer acquisition and retention for both online and brick-and-mortar.”
For a 10th time Gov. Phil Murphy has extended New Jersey’s public-health emergency, this time through late January. The order expires after 30 days if it is not extended. The announcement came as New Jersey’s second-wave surge has shown some signs of leveling off.
