These are my first impressions of the room product at the Wynn Palace Cotai. Upon exiting the Four Seasons Mercedes sedan in the Wynn Palace porte-cochère I was whisked away to the VIP check-in area. This was not because I was a VIP; but rather there was a (long) wait in the regular check-in area. This was very gracious and would have saved me some time if my room (Fountain Suite) had been available.
They thought my assigned Fountain Suite was clean and available, and it was the room category I signed and confirmed on the iPad check-in (neat). The lovely agent said they wanted to verify that the room was actually ready, and it turned out it was not. I patiently waited for around 20 minutes, at which time they realized that the room was not going to be ready any time soon. I was offered and accepted an “upgrade” to an Executive Suite.
The Wynn Palace has a number of room categories (with Spa Versions, including a private room for massages and other in-suite treatments) that range in increasing order of Palace Room, Fountain Suite, Executive Suite, Parlor Suite continuing all the way up the a 6,700 sq/ft two bedroom Garden Villa. (or the 8,000 sq/ft three bedroom version).
The Executive Suite has a different arrangement than the Fountain Suite, and a view of the sea instead of the fountains. Both suites have a completely separate bedroom. Personally, I am not really sure if it is truly an upgrade from a Fountain Suite. Looking at an average day in September (13th of September) a Palace Room is priced at HKD 1,988, Fountain Suite at HKD 2,988. Strangely enough, I could not find pricing (online) for the Executive Suite. My assumption is that the pricing is quite similar to the Fountain Suite.
Wynn Palace Describes the Executive Suite as :
Envisioned with business or recreation in mind, the Executive Suite at Wynn Palace has been designed in statement-making style. Whether you’re hosting business meetings or simply desire accommodations that combine a relaxed resort lifestyle with the often-impromptu need to entertain, our Executive Suites are sure to suit a variety of needs and styles.
Totaling 89 square meters (960 square feet), our Executive Suite features an expansive living room with marble-topped dining table ideal for meetings or festive dinners, while the plush seating area is enhanced with a 75-inch HD television.
One difference seems to be the TV size, which is 75-inch in the Executive Suite where as it is listed as 65-inch in the Fountain Suite and Palace Room. Though, there seems to be a little bit of inconsistency in the spec sheet and wording on the website. Perhaps, “Executives” like larger TVs? In any case, the suite was lovely, and considering the mild chaos of a new hotel opening I preferred to just get into a suite and settle down for the afternoon. So, with a very polite Wynn VIP check-in room escort I was finally off to my suite.
