ClubWPT Gold is a new online Poker site available in 46 states (excluding Idaho, Michigan, Montana, and Washington). It operates on the sweepstakes coin model and allows deposits with American Express and Visa credit cards. 

In February of 2025, I’m able to add $6000 worth of sweepstakes coins, later redeemable for cash after 1x playthrough, to my account every thirty days while generating credit card spend for points, miles, cashback, or welcome bonus spend.

In my experience, the cash games have been soft (filled with players making questionable/bad decisions) and plentiful, with stakes including $0.50/$1/$2 blinds with a max $200 buy-in and $1/$2/$4 with a max $400 buy-in. In just a few hours, I played through about $3000 and was able to deposit it into a checking account.

ClubWPT Gold’s wallet page details your current balance, redeemable coins, and non-played funds so you can see your progress versus guessing or, more tediously, keeping track of your played funds.

My Plan of Action

I plan on playing through at least $6000 in funds. If the games continue to be soft, I will continue to play, especially during downtime between travels in the United States. The site’s software runs well on my laptop, so I don’t need to wait for a better setup than I have with a home computer and multiple monitors.

After the first thirty days of play, I’ll deposit more funds to generate more credit card spending. Depositing $6000 a month for three months will easily reach most thresholds for credit card welcome bonuses, so good Poker players will have no problem generating spending from home and profiting from soft games.

Something to Consider

Lacking Poker skills, though, will likely lead players to lose money, negating the gain of credit card spending and rewards. ClubWPT Gold unfortunately does not offer low house edge games like Blackjack that will be more approachable for Poker novices, but those who want to learn Poker and become good players can put in time on training websites like Red Chip Poker and Crush Live Poker.

I started learning Poker about a decade ago. After a year of study and gradually moving up in low buy-in online games, I transitioned to in-person casino games, and every year has been profitable.
