ZorkFest is a conference where casino and travel rewards meet. Casino reward points and comps come from cash spending at restaurants and retail outlets in casinos, as well as gambling. Let’s Talk About Gambling!

Gambling

There was a time when my focus covering Las Vegas was on gambling. That’s changed a lot as Las Vegas has changed. I still gamble often but don’t write about it much since the powers that be aren’t looking for as much coverage. Gambling has been shrinking for decades as a percentage of overall revenue […]

There’s A New Baccarat Guy In Town!

Bally's Atlantic City Big Baccarat

When I first met Mr.TravelZork, he was known as Baccarat Guy online. His fascination for the game was and is unrelenting even though he no longer goes by the name. I was known as East Coast Gambler at the time but ditched that shortly after moving to Las Vegas. People didn’t like that I was […]

In Memoriam – (Un)Lucky Dragon (2017-2018)

Lucky Dragon Las Vegas

But part of the trip that was critical to me was to check out, now that it was finally open and seemed to be a gem in the rough, the Lucky Dragon. I talked up the visit to the joint the entire trip to my friend. Intimate casino, catered crowd, boutique hotel, food that might rival the best Asian in the country (wrong…Arcadia always wins), and best of all…free parking. He shrugged (trust me, not a casino geek) and said sure. And along we went.

An American Casually Dining at Lucky Dragon Las Vegas

Lucky Dragon

Lucky Dragon is a heavily Asian themed casino and hotel. The dining options reflect that more than any another segment of the casino and hotel. All four restaurants inside the casino serve exclusively Asian cuisine. This is unique but speaks loud and clear as to who their desired customer is.

Hotel Review | Lucky Dragon Las Vegas

When choosing a hotel, it’s good to understand a little bit about it so you know what to expect. Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino has the goal to be Las Vegas’ first hotel and casino that was designed specifically to create an authentic Asian cultural and gaming experience. This was on my mind when I drove up to valet at Lucky Dragon Las Vegas.

EXCLUSIVE | Everything You Want To Know About The Casino At Lucky Dragon Las Vegas | 拉斯维加斯威龙赌场度假村

The Casino At Lucky Dragon Las Vegas | 拉斯维加斯威龙赌场度假村

Lucky Dragon Hotel and Casino are separate buildings that occupy a mere 3 acres just off the Vegas Strip. The hotel is about 20 steps west from the casino at Lucky Dragon Las Vegas. Both buildings are connected by a walkway (called the SkyBridge) on the 2nd floor so you never have to walk outside if it’s cold or hot. However, the casino is on the first floor so you’ll probably just walk outside for 5 seconds.

I want to start my flurry of information about Lucky Dragon in the casino because that’s where most people will visit before staying in the hotel itself.

Hotel Review | The Executive Suite At Wynn Palace Cotai – Part 2

Hotel Review | The Executive Suite At Wynn Palace Cotai - Part 2

The casino game today is a mix of different things. In Vegas, it’s corporate policy streamlining the house advantage while tossing out treats. In Macau, it’s one-upping your opponent, who can be bigger, flashier, better. In Atlantic City, it’s simple survival of the fittest, even if that means grinding your business from month to month. […]

Chasing Macau | Part 3 | Initial Impression Executive Suite – Wynn Palace Cotai

Wynn Palace Executive Suite Key

There will be a more formal review in the coming week, but for now my first impressions of the Executive Suite at Wynn Palace Cotai. Totaling 89 square meters (960 square feet), our Executive Suite features an expansive living room with marble-topped dining table ideal for meetings or festive dinners, while the plush seating area is enhanced with a 75-inch HD television.

Chasing Macau | Part 2 | Opening Night – And What A Joint It Is – Wynn Palace Cotai

Wynn Palace Cotai

And What A Joint It Is — Amazingly, once you got by the initial rush of folks wanting to enter it was rather calm. The entrance I used had a lovely hallway past the VIP table games area, and the signature smell was amazing. Or perhaps, the fact that I was inside and there was air conditioning was also what made it seem so glorious. When I was writing part 1, I realized that this trip was so last minute I never got a chance to really brace myself for what I was about to encounter.
