There were so many renovation and expansions of existing casinos that never got off the ground. It’s fun to take a stroll around the Las Vegas that never was.
But after a lengthy amount of time since opening, no one is really talking about the W at the SLS. While friends will always rave of the latest hotel openings, experiences and the like, no one in my direct contact has mentioned more than a whisper or two about the W.
Just another day in Las Vegas yesterday (Friday) started at El Cortez around noon and ended a Bally’s around 14 hours later. Spending days and nights with people who don’t live in Las Vegas is a blast. Everything seems so new and fresh. It’s great to see Las Vegas through the eyes of people who visit only a couple of times a year.

After speculation and somewhat of confirmation from the SLS and Starwood, it appears as though the transformation of the Lux tower into the first W Las Vegas is well underway with construction walls up and certain rooms not available.
