ZorkFest was a blast but now it’s back to the semi-regular Vegas News column. This week will be a mega-Vegas News catch-up. Buckle up, it’s been a while!
Casino earnings
We’re going to start with a quick recap of casino earnings. If the numbers bore you just read this and move down.
The biggest news is that MGM, Boyd, Station, and Wynn are renovating rooms. Bally offered no information on the future of the Tropicana site, which hasn’t been released yet. The new tower at M Resort won’t be opening until sometime in 2026.
As usual, the companies dropped a few news bites leading into earnings:
MGM Resorts is changing Delano to W Las Vegas. Read here.
I stopped by Delano one last time since I was in the area. Look for a slew of changes over the next year.
Caesars’ sale of WSOP was completed the day the company reported earnings. Read here.
Caesars also announced it was selling The Linq promenade other than the High Roller observation wheel. The deal should close before the end of the year. Read here.
Other notes from the Caesars call is that the new Vanderpump and Ramsay restaurants at Flamingo will be opening soon. Same with the new high limits rooms at Caesars Palace.
Boyd finished Gold Coast room renovations. Read here.

F1 is giving away a wallet if you buy LVGP tickets using your Amex card. Read more here.
MGM Grand has a new High Limit slots room. Nice to see they kept the old Top Dollar machines.
Sphere earnings were interesting this quarter. The movies (“Postcards”/U2) are generating more revenue than the events (residencies/UFC). This makes sense since the movies are open all day and most nights while the events are long weekends. I just never thought about that and figured I’d share. Read more here.
The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art has a new program. Read more here.
Aces of Comedy is moving to MGM Grand next year since the company no longer owns The Mirage. The younger comedians went to other casinos but the senior citizens can use MGM Rewards comps to see Tim Allen, Jay Leno, and a bunch of seniors. See the thread here.
Dan Tosh is one of the former Aces comedians to jump ship. He recently announced more shows at The Cosmopolitan. See the tweet here.
Station Casinos is finally linking some of its table game progressives.

Ocean One inside the Miracle Mile Shops is permanently closed. See the tweet here.
The Sahara poker room is closed and will be replaced with slot machines. The more things change, the more they stay the same. This used to be the high-limit room with slots when the property was SLS. Read more here.
Heads up: March Madness parties are starting to be announced.
Mr. Piffles has passed away. See a tribute below.
