Atlantic City July 2017 | Zirkus Comes To Town; Borgata, Tropicana Bares All (or most of it)
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus may be history, but Nik Wallenda’s Zirkus II at Tropicana may be the next best thing. You won’t see any live animal acts, but Zirkus is best described as “a thrilling variety show” starring celebrated wire walker Nik Wallenda and an international troupe of circus performers. It’s also great for families. Zirkus will play select dates – matinees and evening performances – July 9 through Sept. 4 in the Tropicana Showroom. Tickets (plus taxes and fees) are $30 for adults and $15 for children 16 and younger. Visit the Tropicana Box Office or Ticketmaster.com, or call toll-free (800) 745-3000.
Speaking of family-friendly entertainment, Tropicana has opened the Family Sports Station, an arcade and game room on the Boardwalk that features sports games and prizes for everyone. Play favorite games like basketball, punching bag, air hockey, golf, hunting, a pitch and bat baseball, and bowling games from the 1950s. Guests can play these skill-based games for their chance to win officially licensed National Football League and Major League Baseball merchandise. The Family Sports Station is open every day but Fridays. For more information visit Tropicana.
For some not-quite-so-family-friendly entertainment, Atlantic City now has “dueling” burlesque shows on Thursday nights. Over at Borgata you’ll find “The Burlesque Show” at 9 p.m. in The Music Box. For tickets visit TheBorgata.com or call (866) 900-4TIX (4849). Meanwhile at Tropicana, nightlife entrepreneur Ivan Kane is staging “Kiss My Burlesque.” Shows take place throughout the evening at Kiss Kiss Nightclub. Doors open at 10:30 p.m. For more information, call (609) 300-1615. In addition, Kane is offering burlesque lessons every Saturday. Group lessons at 1:30 p.m. are $50 per person. Private group lessons begin at 3:30 p.m. and cost $100 per person for from one, two, three or four people, or $75 per person for five or more. Visit KissKissNightclub.com for more information or to make reservations.
Pink headlines the first of two outdoor concerts on July 12, followed by Brantley Gilbert with Luke Combs on July 13. For tickets, visit Ticketmaster.com or call (800) 745-3000.
Tropicana Atlantic City’s newly renovated Seaside Cafe and Fiesta Buffet have reopened with new contemporary looks, redesigned menus, outdoor seating and the return of many favorite dishes.
The Seaside Café, with seating outside on the Boardwalk, is now located in the Marketplace, and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and a late-night menu. In addition, the café has a full service bar.
The Fiesta Buffet’s interior transformation includes everything from flooring and wall treatments to a new entrance, comfortable seating and more.
