Further Borgata Mlife Clarification
I have some clarification to add to my Mlife at Borgata post from last week.
I played video poker again and the Mlife Express Comps, Slot Dollars and Tier Credits were updated in my account immediately. The Global Points were not, but the Mlife Desk had the correct session total in their records, when I inquired about it. When I tried to tell the booth that the computer system is just not adding the session amounts to your Point Total, their response was kind of lackluster, “Tech is working on it.” Nobody would actually articulate, that they fixed the Tier Credit updates, but they still have to get to the Global Points. They just repeated that all the account issues are not sorted out yet. (I’m pretty certain that the Express Comps, Slot Dollars and Tier Credits are being added to your account correctly now, and that it is only the Global Points that are wrong, but I have only my own account to use for data.)
To make calculations just a little more difficult and confusing, a small amount of Points showed up in my account, after I played, but this amount didn’t make any sense. 12 Points showed up in my account after I was finished playing, but 348 should have been added. The Borgata team left that extra 12 Points in my account and manually added the 348 Points while I waited at the desk (Woohoo, twelve extra cents worth!)
Global Points are like Slot Dollars
I did confirm that Global Points are like Slot Dollars; if you don’t earn $1 worth, 100 Points, you don’t earn any at all (the minimum is $4 for Slot Dollars). Like Slot Dollars, you earn Points only for machine play, not for Table Games. (For Table Games at the Borgata you earn only Express Comps and Tier Credit.) So, if a machine shows that you have earned a total of less than 100 Points, you know it is wrong.
Also, the Slot Dollar and Global Point minimum before you start earning (10 Express Comps = $4 Slot Dollars + 100 Global Points + 750 Tier Credits) only applies to machine play. If you earn 10 Express Comps at a Table Game and then start to play slots, that 10 Express Comps does not count toward the minimum you need to earn before earning Slot Dollars and Global Points.
So, while they were sorting things out in the back, there was an electronic board behind the Mlife counter advertising that, “Points can be used the same day you earn them.” Only, you can’t use Points that are not in your account! Why not wait to run that ad, until the system actually works properly? Sheesh.
Bottom Line: For expediency, if you want to quickly make sure you earn what you deserve, note how many total Express Comps you earn and go to the Mlife desk and ask them to provide you with your Tier Credit, Slot Dollar and Point totals and a customer representative should be able to see that your Point total is incorrect. (Use the simple formula above if you want to have exact numbers to compare.)
