This article about The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas loyalty program Identity Membership & Rewards was originally written by Marc Meltzer in August of 2015. It has bees revised and updated by Steve White.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is one of the most modern casinos and hotels in Las Vegas. Hotel rooms, restaurants, clubs and entertainment are all on the cutting edge of what’s hot today and what will be hot tomorrow. The same can be said for their players club. Identity Membership & Rewards, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas players club, acts more like a traditional loyalty club that could be used for any business than just a casino slot club card. This suits their customer’s perfectly as the gaming makes up only a small piece of what people are spending money on.
Unlike some other players club cards, Identity points are rewarded for spending everywhere at the Cosmopolitan. In addition to receiving points when playing slots and video poker in the casino you also receive Identity points from spending on hotel, dining, shopping and the spa. The Cosmo also has a unique partnership with Marriott that you should keep in mind when booking.
Earning Points
The Cosmopolitan recently changed how they reward spending in the casino. They no longer offers points for table game play but you can still ask a pit boss or host for a discretionary comps based on your play. Here’s how you earn Identity points:
Gambling
- 1 point – $2.50 reel slots
- 1 point – $6 video poker
- Identity points are not earned on table games, sports book and electronic craps machines.
Hotel, Spa, Dining, Shopping
- 5 points – $1
- $5 resort credit – $100 spent
Tier Benefits
Identity has four tiers to its players club. Each tier offers members better rewards than the previous tier. Identity tier benefits increase slowly but appropriately for the Cosmo customer. Their high rollers appreciate the VIP benefits more than customers of other casinos.
When you sign up for Identity you begin at the Velvet tier. You’re essentially signing up for their marketing mailing list so benefits are minimal. You see incremental benefits as you climb tiers. Here are the details:
