James F. Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International and chief executive officer of Seminole Gaming, officially announced a June 28 opening. The hotel and casino are owned by the Seminole Indian tribe of Florida. Stressing that Hard Rock “is an entertainment facility, not just a casino,” Allen also announced some of the 300 acts already booked in Atlantic City.
Third Eye Blind will be the inaugural concert on July 5 in the Hard Rock at the Etess Arena (formerly the Mark G. Etess Arena). Other acts – among them, Howie Mandel on July 3 and 4, Jon Lovitz on July 5, and Kellie Pickler on July 6 – will perform in The Theater (formerly Xanadu). Both the arena and Xanadu are being extensively remodeled.
That said, Hard Rock is also a casino with 2,100 slot machines and 120 table games, as well as a 2,000-room hotel. For a limited time the hotel is offering two complimentary room nights for certain top-level player loyalty cardholders. You could qualify if you have a players card from any of the other casinos in Atlantic City, Parx or SugarHouse in Philadelphia, or an existing Hard Rock casino in Florida, Iowa, Nevada and Ohio.
Hard Rock also will feature a Howie Mandel Comedy Club, 20 restaurants and bars, and a portion of the world’s largest collection of music memorabilia, including outfits worn by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and an autographed guitar from Jon Bon Jovi.

All players cards which qualify for the complimentary room offer – in addition to Mlife Rewards Pearl, Total Rewards Platinum, Taj Mahal Executive and Tropicana Copper – also will get complimentary self-parking. Wild Card Rewards – Hard Rock’s Rewards program
In addition, once the casino opens, Hard Rock’s Wild Card Rewards player loyalty program will match the tier level from any of the competing casinos eligible for the room offer.
Hard Rock’s Rewards program has three levels: Premier, Elite and Rock Royalty. The casino will determine which players card most closely matches these levels. Redeeming the hotel offer or signing up for a Rewards Card in advance of the casino’s opening will not exclude players from any new member promotions – including the tier match.
