As one final addendum to our series on the benefits and possibilities of MGM’s player’s club, Mlife, I thought I’d explore a bonus that I wasn’t particularly aware of when I first wrote the series. Sure, we talked about earn. We talked about tiers, benefits, and multipliers. But I want to delve into detail about one more thing when it comes to partnerships and that is the growing list of partners and that the perks they add to the program may be the most exciting part of Mlife.
If there’s one example that might be indicative of just how far Mlife is willing to go to grow it’s network database of potential guests and players, it is their partnership with Hyatt. The hotel chain is known around the world for it’s service at any of it’s properties or brands, and it has it’s own loyalty program much like Mlife called World of Hyatt (formerly Hyatt Gold Passport). And much like Mlife, the more you stay with Hyatt, the more perks you can get, from earning stays to extra amenities on property.
And as the graphic above shows it’s not only limited to earn. You also get the rare benefit of something in addition…tier matching. This is a rarity of sorts in the Vegas world nowadays, the kind of thing that new properties do to build a player database. What it means for the frequent traveler is that you don’t necessarily need to gamble to get Mlife perks as high as Gold. Just being a member gets you Sapphire with Mlife which is basically ground zero, but hit Explorist with Hyatt and you’re Gold with Mlife, no questions asked. Unfortunatly Globalist also only nets you Gold. Instant casino status, and you don’t even have to set foot in a casino.

And this is where the partnerships really become an exciting thing to watch. If this is the length Mlife is willing to go with one hotel chain, imagine what can happen if they start partnering with more airlines and hotel chains. The possibilities may be confusing at first, but the potential to earn can become more and more unlimited the more you travel and frequent partner properties. And that equals more player info for Mlife and more reasons for Hyatt customers to spend with the chain, a win on both accounts. For even more tier reciprocity details, this thread on FlyerTalk is a great resource.
So here’s hoping Mlife continues to grow. And that with that growth comes more perks, more benefits, and more partners which will only make it more powerful for the power traveler and gaming enthusiast. Nothing wrong with double dipping, is there?
