Just another day in Las Vegas yesterday (Friday) started at El Cortez around noon and ended a Bally’s around 14 hours later. Spending days and nights with people who don’t live in Las Vegas is a blast. Everything seems so new and fresh. It’s great to see Las Vegas through the eyes of people who visit only a couple of times a year.

Lucky Dragon is a heavily Asian themed casino and hotel. The dining options reflect that more than any another segment of the casino and hotel. All four restaurants inside the casino serve exclusively Asian cuisine. This is unique but speaks loud and clear as to who their desired customer is.

When choosing a hotel, it’s good to understand a little bit about it so you know what to expect. Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino has the goal to be Las Vegas’ first hotel and casino that was designed specifically to create an authentic Asian cultural and gaming experience. This was on my mind when I drove up to valet at Lucky Dragon Las Vegas.

Each week we sift through all of the posts, blogs, PR, hyperbole and rumors, boil it down and share the best stuff with you. I’m exhausted from reading all of the Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Wait We’re Still Not Done sales info. But, there’s an internet that needs to be fed with new content. So, let’s get going.

December seems to put Atlantic City in a more “family-friendly” mood.

The best place to head is Tropicana. The festivities begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 on the Boardwalk and include a special holiday sing-along presentation of Tropicana’s Multimedia Light and Sound Show.

Lucky Dragon Hotel and Casino are separate buildings that occupy a mere 3 acres just off the Vegas Strip. The hotel is about 20 steps west from the casino at Lucky Dragon Las Vegas. Both buildings are connected by a walkway (called the SkyBridge) on the 2nd floor so you never have to walk outside if it’s cold or hot. However, the casino is on the first floor so you’ll probably just walk outside for 5 seconds.

I want to start my flurry of information about Lucky Dragon in the casino because that’s where most people will visit before staying in the hotel itself.

Here are my first 10 impressions after about an hour at Lucky Dragon Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. Please enjoy these initial glimpses of Lucky Dragon.

Before Lucky Dragon opened over the weekend, the last casino to open that was built from scratch was the Cosmopolitan. That hotel and casino opened way back in 2010. Sure SLS Las Vegas, Downtown Grand, and The Cromwell have opened since then, but they were built using the bones of the Sahara, Lady Luck (NAME) and Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall respectively.

Black Friday, as we all know, has become a tradition.
