It feels good to be in Las Vegas after nearly a month in Amish Country, PA. I shared a few pics on Instagram of the things I was seeing while traveling through the area. Enough about me, let’s get to the Vegas News from the past couple of weeks!

The Las Vegas Grand Prix released the economic impact report for the race last year. You can read it here.
If the numbers are just numbers, you can find an analysis of the report here.
Grand Prix Plaza is opening later this month. Read about the only place you can have a business meeting with a view of go-kart racing here.
Since we’re talking sports, I find the data the Las Vegas Stadium Authority releases about who’s attending games and concerts at Allegiant Stadium.
76% of the people who saw the Steelers play the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in October were from out of town, according to the Las Vegas Stadium Authority. pic.twitter.com/d7j0y085qO

You can see the fourth quarter event report with visitor information at Allegiant Stadium here.
The MGM Rewards tier match (for 90 days) is back. It’s better than nothing! Read more here.
I haven’t been on the socials much lately, but I’m surprised I haven’t seen anything about Ocean’s 14. Read more here.
Virgin’s new rewards program, Cherry, must have been named by a boomer who is still LOLing at the name. Read about Virgin’s Cherry here.
Cherry will eventually do a tier match if you want to explore Virgin. I’m sure everyone you follow on the socials will share this when it’s announced.

Bally’s reported fourth quarter and full year earnings this week. You can see the press release here.
The company cancelled its earnings call 15 minutes before it was supposed to happen. The financials were bad and the stock got hit hard. Get the details here.
I was only tuning into the call to see how they spun the lack of activity on the vacant Tropicana site. Maybe we’ll hear something soon.
On a related note, the A’s are taking deposits from people who want to be the first to be able to buy seats for the 2028 season. Maybe they should start construction. Read a snarky opinion on the matter here.
The A’s released more renderings of the stadium that look like the old renderings. Lots of renderings, not much construction.
BIG things happening

Now that earnings season is over, I wrote about a couple of trends I’ve noticed by the different casino corporations – new high limit slot rooms and hotel room renovations. You’ve probably noticed that since I’ve been sharing the info here and on the socials as I hear it. You can get the specifics here.
Bazaar Meat is closing at Sahara on June 30 and will reopen later this year at The Venetian. It will be replaced by a restaurant owned by someone else who grew up in the Bronx (like me). Read more here.

There’s a new Penn & Teller table game at Rio. You can get all the info on the game here.

Since the local newspaper usually writes what it’s told and doesn’t do any research, you might think the Western Hotel has a new owner and will be reopening. Nah. This is just another tactic for the real estate agents to remind people it’s on the market. Read here.

Disappointing to see that Scotch 80 at Palms reduced its happy hour discount. 30% off is still good and the steak is fantastic. See the tweet here.

Looks like Plaza might have the best All-Tall-Small payouts for its craps games. Will this make you visit?
I have a couple of pictures of the new craps table felt coming to @PlazaLasVegas on March 7. Note the All/Tall/Small is 35/176 for 1. That is the highest paytable available for that bet and I don't recall any others in Las Vegas going that high. pic.twitter.com/n86ddGNVBz

Marc grew up on the mean streets of the South Bronx. He's the rare combination of Yankees and Jets fan which explains his often contrarian point of view. He learned about gambling at a young age working down the street from a bookie who took action on anything from the mainstream sports to the last three digits of the purse for certain horse races. Yeah, that's a thing. Today Marc is a freelance writer and social media consultant which allows him to work anywhere there's a wifi signal. This allows him to work from the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort or the food court at The Venetian where you’ll find fast and free wifi. Writing about steak, booze, gambling and Las Vegas is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
