Lately, the temperatures here in Las Vegas are as high as the stakes. With temperatures in the highs of “WTF” and lows of “How is it 102 at midnight?!” you may need to find ways to beat the heat in Las Vegas. If you’re a tourist looking to keep your cool in Sin City, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some places and activities that will have you chillin’ like a high roller in no time.
Hit the Pools: Not Your Average Dip
Las Vegas pools aren’t just for swimming—they’re for lounging, partying, and pretending you’re a celebrity. Start your pool-hopping adventure at the Bellagio, where the Mediterranean-inspired pool deck will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the French Riviera. Just don’t tell your friends—you want them to think you actually went to France.
For those seeking a more lively scene, head over to the Mandalay Bay Beach, where you can enjoy a wave pool and a lazy river. And if you’re into rooftop vibes, the Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard Pool offers stunning views of the Strip. It’s the perfect place to work on your tan and practice your “I’m not a tourist, I’m a local” look.
Indoor Attractions: Because Sunburns Aren’t Souvenirs
When the sun is scorching, it’s time to head indoors. The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is a great place to start. It’s home to over 2,000 animals, including sharks, rays, and even a Komodo dragon. Fun fact: none of these creatures are known to gamble, so you can feel superior about your luck at the slots.
Another cool spot is the High Roller at The LINQ. This isn’t just any Ferris wheel—it’s the tallest observation wheel in the world. And here’s the kicker: they have air-conditioned cabins and an open bar. Yes, you heard that right. An open bar. Now you can enjoy the best views of the city without breaking a sweat (unless you’re afraid of heights, in which case, we apologize).
Frozen Treats: Because Ice Cream Isn’t Just for Kids
What’s better than ice cream on a hot day? Ice cream in Las Vegas, of course! Head over to Ethel M Chocolates in Henderson for some of the creamiest, dreamiest chocolate you’ve ever tasted. They also have a free self-guided tour where you can see how the chocolate is made and a beautiful cactus garden to explore.
If you’re feeling adventurous, try the frozen cocktails at minus5° Ice Experience, with three locations on the Strip: Mandalay Bay, The LINQ Promenade, and The Venetian. This icy wonderland features sculptures and furniture made of ice, and you get to wear a cozy parka while sipping your drink—talk about a cool experience! It is also my favorite way to beat the heat in Las Vegas.
Escape Rooms: Because Reality is Overrated
If you’re looking for a break from the heat and a little mental challenge, Las Vegas has some fantastic escape rooms. Try out The Official SAW Escape, inspired by the horror movie franchise. It’s a great way to cool off and test your wits, but be warned—you might need a change of pants afterward.
For something a bit less terrifying, head to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart at AREA15. This immersive art installation is like an escape room on steroids, with hidden passages, surreal environments, and mind-bending puzzles. Plus, it’s air-conditioned, so you can explore without melting away.
Stay Cool and Carry On
Las Vegas may be hot, but that doesn’t mean you have to melt. With plenty of pools, indoor attractions, frozen treats, and air-conditioned escapes, you can beat the heat and still have a blast. Just remember to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself. After all, it’s all part of the Vegas experience. So go ahead—roll the dice, hit the pool, and keep it cool. Your adventure awaits!
Stay chill, beat the heat in Las Vegas, and enjoy your vacation!
