New Casino Revenue Report – The 2022 Nevada Gaming Abstract was released last week. This report from the Nevada Gaming Control Board includes all income and expenses for Las Vegas casinos from the last fiscal year. The report covers July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022.
There’s really no major news from the past week so I’ll share some info about a couple of days and nights I spent with tourists on and around the Vegas Strip.
The initial excitement for the launch of the Las Vegas Grand Prix (LVGP) next year is coming to an end. The first batches of tickets for the event are sold out but some more will be released early next year.Â
This week we will get to a new construction update as well as some current renovations. We mentioned that MGM Resorts planned on renovating a portion of the rooms at MGM Grand after the company’s recent earnings call. Some of the rooms in the newly named Studio Tower (former West Wing) will be available in late October. The rest should be completed before the end of the year.
We’re going to start Vegas News with a look at casino earnings again. The season is over, so we can get back to regular news about what’s happening in and around Las Vegas next week. Also, some sparkling news about Caesars Palace Las Vegas and why Caesars Palace Casino shines!
The Plaza Is Listening, and international air travelers to the US no longer have to take a COVID-19 test the day before flying. The Las Vegas casinos that depend on these tourists are beyond stoked.
A handful of executives at The Cosmopolitan quit last week. I am certain we will see many examples of Cosmopolitan slowly changing over the next few months. + all the Vegas News and quick hits!
This will be one of the busiest weeks in Las Vegas in a while. In addition to Palms opening off the Strip, the NFL Draft will take place on the Vegas Strip. Attendance for the latter is estimated between 500,000 and 600,000 people. Navigating the Vegas Strip will be a wild ride and we’re all here for it!
The first weekend of March Madness is wall-to-wall college basketball games for four consecutive days. In total, there will be 48 games played over the weekend.
