The news in Las Vegas never ends. This week Caesars waited until Friday night at 11pm to release news that locals could no longer self-park for free at most of their properties. That’s not entirely true, Total-Rewards members that are Platinum level or higher can valet or self-park for free. You can read about that at the end of this post. There’s so much more happening in Las Vegas that I’d rather discuss.
Wynn Paradise Park: The biggest news of the week was so big that I had to break that out for its own article. Plans for Wynn Paradise Park have changed a lot since the idea was first conceived two years ago. That’s a year before we learned about the expansion at Wynn. The new plans very different than everything else being developed in Las Vegas. I love it. Read about it here.
SLS Las Vegas: The deal to sell the casino on the north side of the Vegas Strip to the owner of the Grand Sierra in Reno is taking longer than expected. The deal may not close until next year. Hopefully, SLS will keep the 50% off dining promotion for locals in December. You can read more about the deal here.
Adele Hates Las Vegas: The rumor of her residency has been around almost longer than her singing career. This week the NY Post said she was about to accept a deal to do a weekly residency at Wynn. Later in the week, the rumor was rebuked. Adele, we hardly knew ye.
Strong quarter for Tropicana: Earnings calls aren’t fun so I focus on the larger Las Vegas casino operators. Penn National Gaming is a nationwide casino operator and they own the Tropicana and M Resort in Las Vegas. Access to casinos is everything in Las Vegas and the reopening of the bridge from MGM Grand to the Tropicana was a big deal. You can read about the record earnings here.
Aces Of Comedy returning in 2018: The Mirage hosts comedians almost every week of the year. They just announced dates for the first five comedians next year. You can find Tim Allen and the duo of Ray Romano & David Spade here. You can find information on Fluffy (Gabriel Iglesias) and Daniel Tosh here.
Quick Hits:
There was a lot of news in the past week so I’m going to have a lot of quick hits today. These are even briefer nuggets of Las Vegas news then you’ve already read. They’re not less interesting but there’s not much to say about the individual topic that hasn’t been said.

New Gamblit Tristation skill-based games are at Planet Hollywood. They’ll also be installed at Caesars Palace, The Linq and Paris. These games look more fun than the first batch of skill-based games from Gamblit.
Matt Goss returns to Las Vegas for another residency. He’ll now be lounging where the sick beats happen at the Bellagio. Read more about the residency at 1OAK inside The Mirage here.
The Rock N Roll Marathon has moved its starting line to New York-New York. You can see this update and information on the marathon here.

Rumor of the week: A new hotel tower will be built at Caesars Palace
On an investors call this week Caesars said that they have plans to develop nearly 100 acres of land in Las Vegas. They’ve shared some information but the final master plan is awaiting approval from the board of directors. We should hear official information in 2018.
Vital Vegas is rumoring that the seven acres of open land at Caesars Palace will include a new hotel tower where the Absinthe Theater tent currently stands. Caesars Entertainment is touting Hell’s Kitchen as if it will be one of the biggest revenue generating restaurants on the Vegas Strip.
Creating a new hotel tower that connects with the existing building makes sense. They can even add retail at the base and this would still be an unobtrusive walkway to the new Gordon Ramsay restaurant that’s being built where Serendipity 3 was located.
Now that I’ve put some thought into this idea I give the rumor an 80% chance of being true.

Marc grew up on the mean streets of the South Bronx. He's the rare combination of Yankees and Jets fan which explains his often contrarian point of view. He learned about gambling at a young age working down the street from a bookie who took action on anything from the mainstream sports to the last three digits of the purse for certain horse races. Yeah, that's a thing. Today Marc is a freelance writer and social media consultant which allows him to work anywhere there's a wifi signal. This allows him to work from the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort or the food court at The Venetian where you’ll find fast and free wifi. Writing about steak, booze, gambling and Las Vegas is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
