My week of vacation on the Vegas Strip was a great time and personally enlightening. I’ll just touch on a couple of newsy items today and will dive deeper with some kind of trip report. Coincidentally, there wasn’t much news while I was taking a break. (Well, except for a Vegas Earthquake!)
This will be a shorter edition of Vegas News than normal. Most of the info will be delivered Quick Hits style because I still have love for the slot machines and I’m old and still recovering. Maybe I should have ordered a hydration IV to recover from the hurricane.
Earthquake(s)! – Vegas Earthquake
Speaking of mother nature there were two earthquakes in California that were felt in Las Vegas. I experienced the first 6.4 magnitude earthquake from California while trying to relax in my 29th-floor hotel room at Harrah’s. After the tower swayed a little, everyone rushed to the elevator to go downstairs. Everyone on the casino floor continued to gamble as though nothing happened, or as if there was not a Vegas Earthquake.
On Friday night, there was a second earthquake in California that could be felt in Las Vegas. I was in the bathroom and didn’t feel this Vegas Earthquake. However, players and fans at the first day of NBA Summer League were freaked out and the game being played was canceled. I went to bed and Las Vegas seems to be okay. Positive thoughts for the people in California.
