Las Vegas Quick Hits

  • Visitation to Las Vegas was up in December and for the whole year in 2023. More interesting is that “Annual ADR for 2023 surpassed $191, beating last year by 11.9%”. See the full report here
  • Green Valley Ranch continues to become Red Rock Casino East. The property is adding a Blue Ribbon Sushi and Mediterranean restaurant. Both are already at Red Rock Casino. Read more here
  • There’s a new Vietnamese coffee shop at The Venetian. Las Vegas should have more stores with super sweet Vietnamese Coffee. See the menu here.
  • These slot machine jackpots at LAS seem to be happening more frequently. Then again, it’s probably just recency bias.
  • Quick restaurant update: Ole Red at Horseshoe, Brasserie B by Bobby Flay at Caesars Palace, and Orla by Michael Mina at Mandalay Bay are all open. Read more here.
  • The Lovers and Friends festival is returning this year with Usher, Janet Jackson, and more. See the full lineup and get ticket information here. The first show is sold out. There’s a waiting list if the organizers can put together a second show.
  • Boring has more plans! Read more here.
  • For those not paying close attention, the Boring Tunnel system still only connects to one casino. We’ll keep you posted when this changes.
  • Resorts World has new specials. Read more here.
  • I’ve been doubting Brightline for years but the company has half of the funding it needs to build a high-speed train service from Rancho Cucamonga, CA to Las Vegas. Read more here.
  • Casinos are already announcing March Madness watch parties. You can see what Fontainebleau is offering here.
  • There’s a new IV joint in the Augustus Tower at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. I haven’t been to this part of the casino in a while but the only other business I remember in the area is the Starbucks. Anyway, read more here.
  • There were rumors about J Lo’s next Las Vegas residency taking place at Park MGM a while ago. The theater there is branded by Dolby. This deal with Dolby may or may not mean something. Read more here
  • How would you about Las Vegas mascot-themed hotel rooms?

Marc grew up on the mean streets of the South Bronx. He's the rare combination of Yankees and Jets fan which explains his often contrarian point of view. He learned about gambling at a young age working down the street from a bookie who took action on anything from the mainstream sports to the last three digits of the purse for certain horse races. Yeah, that's a thing. Today Marc is a freelance writer and social media consultant which allows him to work anywhere there's a wifi signal. This allows him to work from the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort or the food court at The Venetian where you’ll find fast and free wifi. Writing about steak, booze, gambling and Las Vegas is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
