After (over) contemplating where to stay in Boston, American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts (FHR) buy two nights get one free (plus additional benefits) made the Mandarin Oriental, Boston that wonderful combination of “affordable” and five star luxury. The room pictured was a double upgrade from a Lifestyle Room to a Mandarin Room with two double beds; and averages around 550 sq/ft (50 sq/m). Amenities are consistent with luxury hotels including goose down bedding, twice daily housekeeping service with turndown, complimentary house car service and bathroom amenities by Shanghai Tang. As expected, service levels are consistent with that of a five star luxury hotel, meeting and often exceeding expectations.
It is also notable that the one hotel dining venue is known for it’s “French flair with Boston charm.” Bar Boulud Boston is a French-inspired bistro & wine bar unique to the Mandarin Oriental, Boston. This restaurant of acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud has sister Bar Boulud locations in London and New York City.
