Important Announcement – HERO Campaign
Before we get to all of the fantastic events which include lots of talk about holiday fun and Christmas in AC we wanted to share some important news. The John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers and Uber are teaming up to stop drunk driving at the Jersey Shore this holiday season. The region’s first “Holiday HEROES Safe Ride” program will offer free and discounted rides home from 31 participating bars and taverns in Atlantic and Cape May counties through New Year’s Day.
Patrons of HERO establishments will receive Uber ride credits up to $20 and the ability to leave their cars overnight in each establishment’s parking lot. The free and discounted codes will be available to patrons in need of a safe and reliable ride home and distributed at the discretion of participating establishments.
Participating bars and taverns are listed at HEROCampaign.org. Sponsors of the holiday program include Uber Technologies, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority and Coors Light, as well as AtlantiCare, OceanFirst Bank and the Ironworkers Local 399. The 31 participating shore-area HERO bars, taverns and restaurants also raised more than $40,000 in a summer-long non-alcoholic mocktail competition.

Tree’s company – The holiday season at Tropicana kicked off last month with the official Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Musical Light Show in The Quarter and Jingle: A Whimsical Wonderland playing select dates in the Tropicana Showroom. The free light show features a 35-ft. ornately decorated tree with festive lights synchronized to the sights and sounds of the season. Daily shows continue through Friday, Dec. 27, presented every hour on the hour starting at noon.
Jingle belles – Jingle: A Whimsical Wonderland continues through Friday, Dec. 20. The showroom is transformed into a whimsical winter wonderland with a family-friendly (Christmas in AC) holiday show. Tickets are $10 for children 16 and younger, and $30 for adults. Tickets are subject to taxes and fees and can be purchased at the Tropicana Box Office or through Ticketmaster.
Toy with us – Swing Into Christmas: A Comedy Revue Show, benefiting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots, takes place at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the Screening Room at Resorts. Admission is free with the donation of a new unwrapped toy. Click here for more Christmas in AC information.
Winner wonderland – Santa and his merry helpers take you on an unforgettable Christmas journey Tuesday, Dec. 10, through Sunday, Dec. 15, in The Concert Venue at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. With sensational sets, nostalgic songs, a dazzling cast, Santa’s Christmas Wonderland is a must-see (Christmas in AC) for the entire family. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
Why didn’t I think of that? – An Intimate Evening Of Magic and Mindreading with forensic mentalist Scott Xavier once again will be the featured entertainment Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Golden Nugget’s Chart House. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., with the show at 8:30. Tickets are $75 per person, tax and gratuity included.
On their toes – What would December be without The Nutcracker? Check out the Atlantic City Ballet’s unique production at 4 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 15 and 22, in Caesars Circus Maximus Theater. Other times and locations include Stockton Performing Arts Center Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 (10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.) and 14 (10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.), and Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Strand Center For the Arts in Lakewood, N.J.
Sound-alikes (and look-alikes) – Borgata Casino Hotel & Spa hosts Home for the Holidays Friday, Dec. 13, through Sunday, Dec. 15, in the Event Center. This musical features all-time favorite Christmas classics performed by the world’s best tribute artists: Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin and Johnny Mathis, all accompanied by a live band and dynamic dancers. Taking off for the holidays – For more adult entertainment, Borgata will have a special holiday edition of its Burlesque Show beginning Thursday, Dec. 26, through Wednesday, Jan. 1. Performances are at 9 p.m., except for Dec. 31, when the show begins at 10. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at The Borgata.

Formerly the Haven Nightclub, Golden Nugget’s The Wave features free entertainment. Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. Jerry Blavat hosts Geater Gold Dance Parties. Every Friday it’s Flashback Friday. Brew-ha-ha – Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall will host the ultimate Christmas in AC beer tasting dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12. Chef Charles Soreth worked with co-owner Scott Cronick to pair Christmas- and winter-themed craft beer with every course, showcasing several different breweries, not just one. Santa, brunch and beer! – Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall’s family-friendly brunch will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. Santa will have a special area for pictures and exchanges. In addition, there will be a special line-up of holiday brews on tap for all the craft beer connoisseur.
