In honor of Veterans Day, Atlantic City’s casinos are joining many other area businesses to offer discounts and specials for veterans and active duty military. A valid ID is required and restrictions may apply.
Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa – Nov. 10 and 11 Borgata will offer all veterans complimentary self-parking, one free buffet, one free gelato at Borgata Baking Co., 10 percent off their bill at The Metropolitan, and a free Tall beverage at Starbucks, including one for their spouse.
In addition, Borgata offers year-round benefits through its Military & Veterans Program (MVP). Details at TheBorgata.com. Resorts Casino Hotel – Resorts is making a week of it. Among the discounts and activities are the opportunity to grab free slot or match play in the Cash Dash Money Machine Nov. 5, or win $100 in slot play every half hour from noon to 8 p.m. Nov. 10.
On Nov. 6 and 8 the first 500 veterans to visit the Promotions Booth will receive a free Resorts drawstring backpack, and on Nov. 11 the first 1,000 veterans will receive a Resorts commemorative T-shirt.
In addition, all week veterans get 10 percent off an overnight stay; 10 percent at Capriccio, EastWind and Breadsticks; and 15 percent at Margaritaville.
Active duty military get 10 percent off room rates, Sunday through Friday, year round. Tropicana Atlantic City – Tropicana will light its interior fountains within The Quarter green, and offer specials Nov. 11 to veterans and active duty military.
Among the discounts available: 20 percent off at Olón, Okatshe, Mrs. Fields, Time After Time, Old Farmer’s Almanac, Adam Good Deli/Adam Good Sports Bar, Hooters, and admission to Ivan Kane’s Kiss Kiss Nightclub; 15 percent at A Time For Wine and Godiva; and 10 percent at Carmine’s, Chickie & Pete’s, Ri Ra Irish Pub, Zephyr Gallery, Erwin Pearl, Boardwalk Corner Store, Havana Sundries, AKA, Marshall Rousso, Lick, M.C. Sweet’s Bath Delights, and Essentials.
Veterans also get a complimentary Tall beverage at Starbucks, 15 percent off at Wet Willie’s and free admission to Boogie Nights.

Big wheel should start turnin’
It was supposed to open last month, but it looks like the Observation Wheel at the Steel Pier will finally start turning this month. The $14 million, 227-foot wheel, with 40 climate-controlled cabins, will be the third tallest in the country. The wheel, which was purchased in Italy, will take passengers on a 16-minute ride.

Borgata continues to offer special deals this month. For $120, check out the Fall Festival Massage, the Golden Grove Body Wrap or the Apple Orchard Antioxidant Facial at Spa Toccare or the Immersion Spa at The Water Club. ‘We Need A Little Christmas’
The holidays start early with refreshments and small bites at Tropicana Atlantic City’s official tree lighting ceremony and holiday musical light show. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Nov. 17 in The Quarter. The free light show features a 35-foot tree synchronized to festive music with daily shows through Jan. 2, every hour on the hour starting at noon. This not-to-be-missed experience combines interactive lights with an inspiring array of holiday musical selections. Adding to the festive décor is Tropicana’s famed 25-foot poinsettia tree located in Palm Walk.
Two days later Tropicana’s “Holiday Jubilee” opens with performances on select dates through Dec. 22. This spectacular holiday revue is designed to captivate audiences of all ages. Starring two specialty acts, nine dancers and two vocalists, “Holiday Jubilee” takes a fresh approach to presenting the music, characters and stories of the season. After a festive opening number, the audience finds itself inside a magical toy shop where tap dancing soldiers, music box ballerinas and rag dolls spring to life.
