World of Hyatt at Ocean Resort Casino Atlantic City

I was fortunate to be able to visit Ocean Resort Casino Atlantic City for the soft opening and on opening day. While a complete overview of the Ocean Resort Casino loyalty program called Ocean PREMIERE will be forthcoming, we know there is a lot of curiosity and interest about Ocean Resort’s relationship with Hyatt and the World of Hyatt loyalty program. Also, recall that Hyatt also has a partnership with the MGM Mlife program.

Ocean Resort Casino Atlantic City is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. (For those curious, you can also find Ocean Resort on the Hyatt Website.) According to Hyatt:

Ocean PREMIERE, the loyalty program for Ocean Resort Casino, has four tier levels, with top tier being Ocean PREMIERE Black. For those not familiar, the top tier in the Hyatt Loyalty Program World of Hyatt is Globalist.

Hyatt Globalist at Ocean Resort

So, if you are a Hyatt Globalist and visit Ocean Resort Casino what can you expect? What we have been able to confirm so far:

• Hyatt Globalist gets treated as an Ocean PREMIERE Black Card holder.
• Resort fees waived for Hyatt Globalist.
• Breakfast for two at either Harper’s on the lobby level or Café 500 (open 24 hours) on the casino level.
• Free bottles of water.
• Separate lines for Hyatt Globalist and Ocean PREMIERE Black Card.
• Hyatt Globalist members will be upgraded to a Studio Suite.

The Ocean Resort Casino Atlantic City Studio Suite is the same one-room ocean suite at the former Revel Hotel and Casino. One minor difference, is there is no longer a mini-bar (Revel had a fantastic mini-bar at opening, that was later left empty). In place of the mini-bar there is now a very convenient mini-refrigerator.

Ocean Resort Describes the Studio Suite as:

A gracious living space greets you as you enter the corner studio suite with floor to ceiling windows revealing stunning ocean views. This well-appointed suite provides a residential feel with modern elegance. Unwind in a King pillow-top bed with down comforter and over stuffed pillows. Enjoy a large bathroom retreat with plush towels and robes, a glass enclosed shower, dual sinks and a water closet. Bright and airy, this studio suite provides for the ultimate getaway.

World of Hyatt Points at Ocean Resort

Weekends in the summer are “prime time” for all Atlantic City casino hotel properties. In addition, Ocean Resort Casino Atlantic City is a beach resort. Some top properties such as Borgata Atlantic City are located in the Marina District without direct beach access. A quick glance at the Hyatt website for a Saturday night (traditionally the most expensive night in Atlantic City) returns a revenue rate of $399++. But, you can redeem World of Hyatt points at the rate of 12,000 points for a World of Hyatt “Free Night,” or 6,000 Points + $75 cash (Points + Cash rate).

Opening Day at Ocean Resort

This was opening day of the resort, and check in line was easily 50 deep. I just “cut the line” and was able to use the Hyatt Globalist check-in queue. We do not anticipate significant benefits for those below top tier (Globalist) status with Hyatt. In some ways, things do seem to appear very much like Revel. It is not unusual for casinos in Atlantic City to have long queues, especially during the summer so this will be quite a nice benefit for those who are top tier Hyatt and do not have any casino status at Ocean Resort. Considering that this property is now a viable option to use World of Hyatt Points for room redemptions, one has a fantastic opportunity to get a few VIP perks at a fantastic new beach resort.
