I don’t always see Mr. TravelZork when he’s in Las Vegas. Believe it or not, TravelZork’s business is more than just this website and Zorkfest.
TravelZork.travel books trips for people all around the world. That’s not my cup of tea, so I won’t get into that. Las Vegas is my main area of coverage, and I can speak to those experiences.

We typically meet for breakfast one morning during his visits. That wasn’t the case this time, and it was a blast.

I knew this meetup with Movestro, Michael, and others would be serious when I was told to use a rideshare instead of dealing with the stupid Resorts World parking app.

Since I drive to the Vegas Strip most of the time, I rarely stop to take pictures. I snapped a couple of pics of the Hard Rock Guitar Tower construction on the way to meeting the crew at Resorts World. It’s pretty rad from any angle. This was from a flyover ramp entering from the back side of Resorts World.

Social media always says Resorts World is dead, so I was surprised to see the Crystal Bar packed both times I walked by. I’d say about 60-70% of the table games were open, and they were packed, too.
GASP!
Who would imagine that people would be in a Las Vegas casino on a Friday afternoon? This was probably an anomaly. Right? The socials would never lie.

After learning we’d be meeting up for something other than breakfast, I recommended Eight Cigar Lounge because Michael is a smoker and has never been. I went a couple of years ago and had a blast after an amazing dinner at Bazaar Meat at the Sahara. It’s now in the basement of the Palazzo.

We ordered drinks, then went to the humidor to grab a cigar. I had a nice, mellow Davidoff since I only smoke once or twice a year. It was perfectly mild, as I requested.
Shortly after returning with our cigars, I was presented with the beautiful and delicious Smoked Macallan 12 Double Cask Old Fashioned. It’s the second or third-best Old Fashioned I’ve had in Las Vegas, only behind the Suntory Old Fashioned at Bavette’s inside Park MGM, and might be tied with, or slightly better than, the one at Barry’s inside Circa. I’m glad Michael nudged me to get it. It was well worth the extra $8 from the Angel’s Envy version, which was good but different.
We chatted, smoked, and snacked for a few hours. We shared a charcuterie board, lollipop wings, and more, but the most popular item was the pigs in a blanket.
Michael put it best when he said it was like eating elevated bar mitzvah food. Everything was good, but they were so exceptional that we added a second order.
The company was great, and I was reminded how this encompasses the way I enjoy Las Vegas today. My friends and I used to run around doing lord knows what when I first started visiting. Now, hanging out and catching up with new and old friends while enjoying snacks, booze, and smokes is the chill time I enjoy most.

After Eight, we took the elevator by the Conrad Tower to Alle Lounge on 66. This was my first time spending time inside the lounge. It wasn’t open when I reviewed the Conrad Hotel at Resorts World in 2021, and it was closed for a private event on a subsequent visit.
The drinks and snacks continued after we went out to the terrace to see the sweet view of the Vegas Strip. The view would be much nicer if the giant space were filled in. Maybe there will be another arena built there. I put the odds at 0.00000001% above zero that will happen, but ya never know!
The service was great, as were the bourbon chicken nubs. I’m told the shrimp was good too, but I don’t touch water animals. There was live music playing at a low enough level that we could have a conversation without yelling. That’s always a bonus.
Afterward, a couple of the guys decided to play slots. I stuck around long enough to see a nice win before heading back to the burbs. I’m glad I didn’t drive.

The next day, I met up with Movestro and Michael for what I thought would be a drink. It turned out to be dinner as well.
There are so many great bars at Wynn that I haven’t been outside at AFT since it was the outside of Parisol Down. It’s as gorgeous as ever.

After drinks, we went over to Delilah, where Movestro and Michael had dinner plans. Since they added a third wheel, they were able to get a seat in the main dining room instead of at the downstairs bar. The upstairs bar is a madhouse, and you can’t see the performers while eating and drinking.
Delilah requests that you don’t take pictures inside, so there’s nothing to share.
Dinner started with more elevated bar mitzvah food (™). Delilah’s famous tenders were as good as promised. The pigs in a blanket were a bit too salty.
Eight wins the pigs in a blanket battle!
The three of us shared a rack of lamb and short rib. Both were excellent, but the short rib is among the best I’ve had in Las Vegas. My favorite short rib is from Jean-Georges at Aria, if you’re curious.
Delilah lived up to its reputation, and the entertainment at the beginning was perfect. The second performer was a bit loud for my taste. Luckily, we were winding down.
Unlike the night before, I bailed right after dinner.
It’s always fun seeing the TravelZork crew outside of ZorkFest. This was even more fun because I was able to visit a few new bars and restaurants I hadn’t seen before.
