I’ve lost count of how many times I have gone to Las Vegas. It has to be more than 100 times. And yet, this last trip still had many firsts for me. Be sure to start with Day 1.
DAY 2 – Vegas Firsts
John had to fly to New Jersey tonight for a funeral. So, as my gambling buddy I knew how to distract him. We had breakfast at Hash House A Go Go and all developed a protruding belly…ughhhh so much food. Our server (female) looked like Guy Fieri (male?) so that was fun. I then convinced us all to walk it off by heading to Wynncore. I mean, listen…I like Wynncore and they have lots of Wheel of Fortune and John loves Wheel of Fortune. LOVES. (like LOVESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS) so, I thought…let’s get him some lovin’. What’s great about John is he doesn’t take much convincing. I was like “here John…sign up”…and so there he went. He won $600 and earned two free buffets, a spin on the free play wheel (10 bucks…), and a slot tourney entry. I also took a picture with a puppy. It was noonish and the tourney was at 4:30PM so we went downtown.
John had been offered two tickets to the Big Game Bash hosted by The D and Golden Gate. It was a $200 ticket evidently. John managed to get two more for me and Tony…but he was told I needed to PLAY. So we went to play…and lost. LAME. So, we took this pic of us looking unimpressed using that social media cam at The D Las Vegas. (FIRST) Don’t be fooled by the champagne. We weren’t celebrating. So we walked some more. I love walking in Vegas. (no. I don’t.) Tony and Andy hadn’t been Downtown so we showed them stuff. Tony was happy to see Starbucks at the Golden Nugget. He got coffee. He drinks coffee all the time. He is the coffee poster child. So, no firsts here. OH. LIES. I saw the pool at the Golden Nugget for the first time. People were in it. In February. BUT, it was like 75 outside. I had pool envy.

After a little more wandering, we head back to Cosmo dropping John and Andy off at Wynn for the tourney. He didn’t win.
Tony and I went back to the room and took a nap. That really means he napped and I anxiously waited for his cake to arrive. It would be his bday on Saturday. The concierge staff did a phenomenal job making a custom cake with a printed image of Tony’s bitmoji driving a Rolls Ghost. I mean…adorbs. Custom cake order…FIRST.
We then got ready for the Cher concert. Okay, listen. There are many things that are stereotypically gay and liking Cher is one of them. I did not get that gene I guess. That said, I did get the spendthrift gene and I found $300 tickets on stubhub for $100 each so we had really good seats. It was Tony’s b-day present. HE LOVED IT. And hell ok fine…I enjoyed myself as well. Old people don’t know how to do a concert show. There were too many old people being all judgmental. Get up and dance and live a little while you still can…too soon? So, Cher. FIRST.
We then had a salad (not tater tot nachos) at Café Bellagio and went to bed.
OH! Somewhere in the middle of the night I got up to gamble. I hit for $1057 and some change on a dollar bet…my LAST dollar I was willing to gamble in fact. I then, took some of my winnings and max bet on some random machine so I could smoke a cig. I hit for another five hundy. WOO. HOOOOOO!!!! …then I went to bed.
