‘Bet’ on football – without betting
In Atlantic City September 2019 Golden Nugget once again is offering its $1 Million Golden Gridiron through Sunday, Dec. 29. Through noon Sunday, Sept. 8 – and every Tuesday to Sunday through Dec. 29 – 24K Select Club cardholders can choose the teams they think will win the Sunday and Monday games. Enter in the Main Atrium – one entry per day, for a total of six entries per week, excluding Mondays. Best scored entry for the week will be counted. Participants can win two ways each week. The player or players with the most correct picks will win a share of $5,000. Second and third place winners receive $1,500 and $1,000, respectively. In addition, there will be a drawing where 150 participants randomly will be selected to win $50 in free play. Correctly pick the winner of 204 or more games during the season and win $1 million. I love a parade
A “Celebrate America Parade” will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, featuring participants from all over the country. Presented by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City and sponsored by Pepsi®, the free parade will take place on the Boardwalk, stepping off at Metropolitan Avenue and concluding at Arkansas Avenue.
The parade will span a 1.4 mile-long route where spectators are encouraged to bring American flags, lawn chairs and blankets to watch the family-friendly parade. The 90-minute parade honoring heroes will feature patriotic 16-ft. cold air balloons never seen in Atlantic City, along with other floats and participants stemming from seven states and the District of Columbia. In addition, there will be a moment of silence and remembrance for those impacted during 9-11. Grand Marshal for the parade will be Atlantic County native and Miss America 1984 Suzette Charles. Also riding in the parade will be 2020 Miss America Competition candidates from Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Among other celebrities participating in the parade will be Philadelphia sports legends Larry Bowa, Bill Bergey and Dave Shultz.
First responders from the Atlantic City Police and Fire Departments will also be participating in the parade, as well as the HERO Campaign patrol vehicles, the Valley Forge Military Academy Band and Platoons, the Marching Cobras, the 78th Army Band, additional string and marching bands, military units, the Patriotic Farm Tractor from Iowa, diverse and cultural groups, and others. Nationally recognized Parade Producer Todd Marcocci, president of Under The Sun Productions Inc., also produces the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Philadelphia Independence Day Parade, the Miss America Parade, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade and many others.

Ironman 70.3
The Ironman 70.3 race begins at sunrise Sunday, Sept. 15, with a 1.2-mile sheltered swim in the back bays. Framed by the Atlantic City skyline, spectators can view the entire swim course from the shore. The 2.5x loop bike course will take athletes into Atlantic City via the Atlantic City Expressway with dedicated lanes, which athletes will ride toll-free. Finally, there is 13.1-mile run course. The 2019 Ironman 70.3 Atlantic City will offer 40 qualifying slots to the 2020 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Taupō, New Zealand.
